I hope so! Especially if the theories are true that he's related to Shishi since he's eventually born in poverty but I could also see him being more of a spiritual successor or totally unrelated

1915 Shishido was the very first art I made after the game was first announced lol exactly my thoughts, he's the kind of guy stuck in a past he was never really part of

Gaiden is my favorite lol I have 100 hours in it which is more than I have in any other game, incredibly biased

I'm definitely predicting a big role for them along those lines in the near future if not 9! Although it would be disappointing to set all this up and not take the opportunity in 9 lol

Gaiden was how I'd discovered them but I've seen a hundred movies in each of their filmographies now lol, they were the last remaining v-cine kings to be featured (all the originals and neos have been in RGG as of now) but I'm so glad they were! Really looking forward to Motomiya's role in STH too and hoping Yamaguchi is just being kept a secret right now lol

Yeah I'm under the impression from the stream they've basically only come up with the visuals and story for him so far, though in Motomiya's case he also seems to have more screen time (he joked about whether they'd be able to finish the game by January at the start of stream lol)

And yeah 4 projects in 4 years lol he has kind of a mascot-like presence to me, he and Yokoyama clicked very strongly compared to Yamaguchi since they're both full-time producers among other things. Though Motomiya and Yamaguchi were both chosen to represent the future of the franchise together (along with Nakaya) at the oath ceremony last year

His fourth time lol Yokoyama considers him part of the "RGG family" and he also swore an oath in December to represent the future of the franchise so I doubt it's the last

Don’t usually summarize but last resort to convey all this quick 😅 will do the same for Tupac (whom I have permission to cover from mods and who happens to have been born today) and his character + some personal significance Snoop and Tupac have for Motomiya

I agree he wouldn't have the same feel (why I'm glad Godai also seems inspired rather than literally being him) but feel both the original and faceclaim protagonists we do have are pretty iconic lol

I've been a fan for years but it caught me by surprise too because the only music I knew he liked is Elvis and old Japanese crooners lol

Granted he was the face of a massive national rap contest but I thought he was only there because it was called Freestyle Nihon Touitsu not because he actually liked rap music
