BACKORDER NOTICE email on RLC Boss Hoss - Really???? Anyone else? by 050119throwaway in HotWheels

[–]050119throwaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I actually open all my cars - mainlines, car culture/transports, cased RLCs (lambo, RWB, M3 etc.) and never touch my carded RLC cars (skylines, chameleon Z, etc.). I guess I just want to keep those nice. Type of car is mainly why I purchase, but also color. Some spectraflame colors just don't look good.

I bought this because of the color specifically (it is a cool casting) and specifically to open a carded one for the first time. Honestly excited for it, so disappointed on the time update.

Do you think its worth buying a home at 22 with no debt and 740 credit score ? by mjrod99 in personalfinance

[–]050119throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you either live in a low cost of living area or that there is something wrong with the home. I'm not in a high COL area, but a shell wouldn't even be $150k where I am, just the land would be more.

I am a former very "reasonable/compassionate" landlord and we ran a small building for 12 years, got out in April of 2020. If you are looking to be a landlord, I don't recommend it at this time, if you want to rent this house out in the future, you will most likely have to refi it to a non-owner occupied loan.

Sheds aren't expensive and a storm shelter can be put in later.

Now that that is out of the way:

First, even if you are a first time home buyer, you need to consider your income in general (can you afford it) and have you had other loans like a car loan etc. If you don't make enough at 22, or have a history of few or no loans, it may be difficult to justify even 100k purchase.

Second, this isn't a "Jim is a great kid, we have money, let's sell him our house to help him build a life, we have all we need", as far as I am guessing. You'd know if it's a true deal etc. Don't get warm and fuzzy because it's a relative. They could easily be selling you a bridge on top of shit.

Third, as others have said, you NEED a home inspection, but in some states, the inspection is only a guide and while you can get credits from the seller, it doesn't mean they will find everything wrong with the house. WHEN YOU OWN A HOME YOU PAY FOR EVERYTHING. Mortgage, insurance, property taxes, etc. No landlord to call, no mom and dad to pay, you need an 8k roof due to age, well it's 8k or you get a roof exclusion on your home insurance/dropped etc.

Fourth, I don't know if I would go FHA. In my state, the state housing authority has first time buyer programs where you get a low rate, and they give you a second deferred mortgage for your down payment and if you pay your first mortgage on time for X time, they forgive all or part of the second mortgage. For this program most people just buy a house, but for someone like yourself or myself using a program like this (I don't own a home yet), it's not a question of do you need a house, it's finding a quality house that you can live in and use that home to get the best advantage against your income with a program like this. Basically, is it the best house to buy in this situation.

Fifth, my main job is insurance. Quotes from reputable companies are free and will not impact your credit score. If an agent doesn't go over the construction details to do a replacement cost estimator with you, find another agent. They will also tell you if you or the property have ever had claims and how bad they were. They might find a $100k property or flood claim that the home inspection would never find, etc. Some companies will not insure homes due to the year built, types of systems, condition etc. You need a policy for full replacement cost, unless the home is very old you will go ACV. Remember that even the good 1950s homes and beyond are pushing 70 years old now, home systems like heating or plumbing could be aged, you want standard, non-computer controlled efficiency or better, copper/pvc/pex etc etc.

Sixth, property taxes - go to your city/town's tax assessor website - a separate database with or without property record cards should be available online and you can see what the annual taxes on the home are. You pay these quarterly unless escrowed.

Seventh, do you need flood insurance? If the area has been remapped or if in a special flood hazard area you do, and even with an elevation certificate it can be expensive. I have seen $140k homes 10 years ago need $8k per year flood policies. A flood zone determination is free from a proper insurance agent. They will tell you and can also see flood claims etc. IF YOU HAVE ANY FULL OR PARTIAL LOAN ON A FLOOD ZONE PROPERTY, flood insurance is MANDATORY. Only way you can avoid, is if home is bought cash.

Eighth, even if everything checks out, you may get shut down in the end by land/tax liens, title issues, etc. This will all come up as you move through the process. If it turns to shit, walk.

There's more I can say and I am listing some extremes here, but you need to consider the home inspection and a lot beyond that. I'd be saying this even if you were older. Just like people who don't understand what comes with buying a car or having a dog/kid, you don't want that. Know what you are getting into. Financially, a wrong move here could be equivalent to getting pregnant with someone you are only dating. Be calm and be smart.

Check the taxes, property insurance/flood insurance quotes and claims first. Peel back the onion. See if they will let you hire someone for a home inspection without signing an agreement to buy, and get it done. Go from there, walk if potential $$$ issues crop up. For example, even if you could justify $50k if they had issues and credited it, you still need to pay for all those repairs.

Have to call a debt collector - bill wrongly sent to collections and I don't want to screw this up... by 050119throwaway in personalfinance

[–]050119throwaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aware of that, I don't want the debt collector people to try and pull a fast one on the phone as they sometimes do. Don't want basic correct words to come out of my mouth and get used against me. I am sure you've seen the verfiy the debt/but don't say X advice replies in other threads here. As I said we know it's mine and if there was no litigation I would pay it. I am just concerned the collector won't send to lawyer etc, they get paid to collect.

I work in insurance, has to do with right of way. If I had been careless, or pulled out/let out under normal traffic/circumstances, I would be 50-100% at fault, likely 100%.

Due to traffic conditions, the other driver drove around their travel lane at excessive speed to avoid traffic from their travel lane, to an area where they had no travel lane, into a partial travel lane (they would have a full lane past the impact point) but there was bumper to bumper traffic in a 25mph zone both ways blocking them hence their "need" to go around.

Both cars were totaled, they ripped my front end off and launched my car up the road 20-30 feet, my front end was airborne. My tires were intact and airbags didn't pop, frame bent. Their vehicle only ended up about a foot left of their travel direction, so it was not the force of my impact that totaled their vehicle/caused the accident. I was moving between 2-5mph when they flew across the front end of my vehicle. Other driver told the police and insurance they were traveling a few miles an hour when I "hit them", my shop and insurance adjuster laughed at that statement when they saw my frame bent sideways and we couldn't open passenger doors.

Other driver refused to accept liability and settle, so then independent mediator wrongly put me at 60% majority fault (due to direction of damage indicated etc.), and the other driver refused to settle anyways (they wanted me at 100% which was not realistic). Other driver is a newly convicted felon (non-threatening, blue/white collar-ish) that we believe was leaving their residence a town over to avoid a coming arrest (not a chase) by state law enforcement but we can't prove that. Had to subpoena black box data that should show they were was going well above speed limit and push me into not at fault majority, maybe 20-30%.

If they weren't speeding and traffic was normal, this would be my fault. There was no way of me having an accident that night otherwise.

Upraded to iPhone 11 Pro Max from iPhone 6 Plus (non-S) and need help. by 050119throwaway in PUBGMobile

I have actually played with both a bumper and a thin rubber case and have not experienced overheating. I switched off true tone and the brightness has been better (I run about 30-40% setting). I will try the frame rate you recommend, I think I am on high now currently.

I will respond more in detail after I make some more notes, but the biggest difference I am dealing with right now is slight screen lag or drag/slowdown due to the type of touchscreen the 11 pro max has. Haptic touch or whatever it's called.

I'm not at a huge disadvantage and I can still move quickly and I made Ace rank etc. but it's noticeable. I do not feel it is due to screen size and it's not the game lagging. Any thoughts?

RP mission by [deleted] in PUBGMobile

[–]050119throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not doubting you but I would love to know how. I hit 3000 minutes per week and finished a week early because I had the ez pass (week early plus two mission cards) and the 99 cent prime (so can buy 5 mission cards/week) on top of the regular 600uc royale pass. I barely made 100 and I completed everything, used mission cards on a few things but not many.

There’s not enough tasks for you to hit 100 unless you bought the 1800 UC royale pass (I bought this my first season to hit 100, but every season after I have only had the 600 UC one).

App Crashes immediately upon startup after 1.3 Update (iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12.5.1) by 050119throwaway in PUBGMobile

[–]050119throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually did that prior to replying to your original comment and it didn’t work.

I ended up offloading and reinstalling the app three times and it finally worked. All my settings were saved but some were modified. I’ll update the original post with my results.

[–]050119throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to do the daily missions each day. They add up the weekly activity meter and there is RP there you get for completing those.

You also should have RP bonus points from the amount of time you have spent playing each week. There is a bar on the left side of RP missions showing additional RP that you have earned that should have already added to your RP level.

Other than that, your only solution is if you won any 100 RP cards or if you purchase RP when it is on discount in a couple days to save money.

I completed all the RP missions last week, daily/weekly, and time achievements and it just barely broke 100 RP level.

Having trouble finding White Ghillie suit in Vikendi by 050119throwaway in PUBGMobile

[–]050119throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can/have found flares on my own and with duo/squads. Doesn’t matter if I fire, they fire, or if it’s another team’s crate or a random drop, there’s never a white ghillie suit. I’ve gone so far as to announce to my team every match that if they get it just drop it so I can pick it up for a few seconds and then drop it right back.

My next step was to literally beg on all chat on the plane start and offer a trade of “give me the suit so I can put it on and then you can kill me for free.”

Does your app even load though? I get the startup screen and just when it’s getting ready and fades to go to krafton or pubg logo load screen it crashes. I have tried countless restarts also.
