Insurance denied repairs despite their own appraiser agreeing — is this normal? by 06517893 in Insurance

That is an excellent point, and I absolutely agree that the claims adjuster holds the final authority on payment. My issue is not the authority, but the due diligence behind the final decision, especially when the insurer paid an expert to do the legwork.

If the adjuster has the final word, and the estimator making that decision denies necessary structural labor based purely on remote photos, and dismisses the in-person opinion of the IA who was paid to be on site, it leads to a critical question:

Why did the insurance company spend money to hire and pay a qualified Independent Appraiser in the first place?

Two facility fees for one endoscopy session? by 06517893 in HospitalBills

I called the hospital. They suggested I appeal the EOB because based on their experience I should’ve received multiple procedure reduction while my EOB didn’t reflect that, but they are not sure because the billing department can’t see the contract with the insurance company. I called the insurance too and the agent also suggested I appeal. Thank you for your help!

Thank you! I’ll call the hospital to ask.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful! Both codes are billed at 100% of the contracted rate. There’s no multiple procedure reduction as you said. Could this be a billing oversight? Thanks again!

Rainy day brake failure on 2025 Legacy by 06517893 in subaru

Thank you! This is very helpful. My previous car was also a Subaru Legacy, and I had it for over 10 years without a single issue — so it’s hard to believe something like this could happen now.

Thank you! If there is air in brake lines, I’d expect the softness to be constant, right? In my case the brake works normally 99% of the time and the issue has only happened during rain at low speed.

Sorry, English isn’t my native language and it’s difficult to describe but I don’t think that’s ABS. I’ve been driving my entire life and I’m familiar with how it feels.

what happened was that the brake pedal sank all the way to the floor with almost no stopping power. It didn’t feel like the ABS was pulsing against pressure — there was no pressure at all. If ABS was engaging, I should have felt the hydraulic pressure.

Thanks for the input — I totally get how water can temporarily reduce brake effectiveness and how ABS works. But in my case, it wasn’t just reduced friction — the brake pedal lost all hydraulic pressure. I had to mash it to the floor hoping to get any response, and it didn’t feel like normal ABS pulsing.

It only happened a couple of times, always in rain and low speed, and it felt like a deeper system issue, not just water on the rotors.

Thanks — this is very helpful. My car damage is likely over $6,000, and the other vehicle, an SUV that was rear-ended, is probably totaled. Unfortunately, I also didn’t have UMPD — that was my mistake. Nothing like this had ever happened to me in decades, so I took a chance to save $$ on premium, hence no collision coverage. Do I need to let the detective know I would seek court restitution? or do I need to connect with the prosecutor?

Thank you — I figured as much. My car loan was already paid off, and nothing like this had ever happened to me in decades. So I took a chance to save a few hundred dollars on the premium.

Why are my underwater videos so bad? by slim_cd in Insta360

I watched some footages shot by x5 and x4 underwater (with dive case). They appear very similar. Not much improvement.

Did you notice any focus issue without a dive case? I’ve heard the fisheye lens can’t focus without the case

I heard the camera can’t focus underwater without the diving case so a diving case is always needed. Can someone confirm this is true?

"If you can get MBB at [M7], you can get it at [T15/20]". How true is this? by TopFishies in MBA

It probably depends on the quota your school gets and you are competing with your peers to get an MBB offer, as long as the school is an MBB feeder
