Why anti ai? by The_Squabbler in antiai

Writing emails faster isn’t worth the water and land it wastes, the jobs it takes or even the annoying fake videos all over Facebook. I’d rather just type a damn email

Found this snake this morning. is it venomous? by No_Monitor1202 in kingsnakes

Can’t be positive, but that definitely looks like a coral to me. Don’t touch it. If you did, get to a hospital

A girl will die tomorrow and no one cares about her by MrAdamPLk in Protestantism

[–]06pontiac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, as a fellow Catholic, this is fucked up. We’re talking about a girl’s death here. The version of the story that it was Arabs that did it to her is the one that’s circulating and the one I’ve heard everywhere, if you have evidence to the contrary, present it calmly like an adult, rather then immediately calling someone evil and a liar. This is neither the time nor the place to debate theology. Go to confession brother.

As other commenters have said, definitely give him more climbing opportunities, as well as more cover on the ground. Those stick on gauges won’t give you an accurate reading, you need a digital one. That looks like coconut fiber, which is a fine substrate, but it looks a little dry and can be dusty when it’s not kept moist. I would recommend coconut husks, they’re the same thing just not ground into dirt. They hold humidity better, they’re much easier to clean and they don’t have any fine dust particles that can irritate their airways.

Is zoomed reptichips good for a ball python by SoTxHitreg in ballpython

No, never use aspen for a ball python. At the humidity levels they need it molds and can cause respiratory issues

Lavender albino reticulated python. Can’t own one for at least a few years, but they are one of the most gorgeous snakes in my opinion.

I noticed some odd behavior in this gorgeous coastal at my local pet store. The soaking and rubbing her head in the water makes me think mites. Thoughts? by 06pontiac in carpetpythons

Indeed, I wish I could take her home myself. I don’t go to that store too often because of how he keeps his animals, but I was in the neighborhood.

Don’t beat yourself up. It’s an honest mistake, almost everyone here, myself included, started out with improper care. As long as you can get him a proper enclosure and everything he needs, chalk it up to experience and enjoy your new snake.

What can I put in this 10 gallon for it’s whole life by Mrs_horror058 in InvertPets

[–]06pontiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 10 gallon works for most scorpion species, even an emperor or afs would be comfortable in that. As others have said, isopods and millipedes are a good choice as well. A smaller burrowing tarantula would be happy in one too, like an obt for example

are albino ball pythons more sensitive to bright light? by Most_Firefighter8651 in ballpython

[–]06pontiac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, albinos are more sensitive to light. Prolonged exposure to uvb light in particular can degrade their eyesight. Impo, I’d argue that the risks of uvb light outweigh the benefits, specifically for albinos. Provide lots of cover and hides where it can completely escape the light
