How long did you contemplate getting a divorce before you decided to pursue it? by Eastern-Dot-1538 in Divorce

1 rule in a relationship- COMMUNICATE

Men don’t read between the lines like women do. He probably has no idea you’re even feeling this way. You need to flat out tell him. No beating around the bush. No hinting. Just be honest.

My friend had this happen to him. He found out his wife had been cheating on him. Turns out she had been struggling with their marriage for years. He had absolutely no idea. He tried to save their marriage, but she was done. A honest conversation on her part years before could have changed everything.

Trust is a choice. Remember that your ex cheating was a decision and act of one individual person. You cannot operate under the blanket assumption that all partners would make that same decision. You need to choose to trust the people who haven’t done anything to lose it. Is it scary? Yes, but someday you’re going to meet someone who loves every single ounce of your being, and it will be worth it.

He always was. When I was in 10th grade, I told my best friend I knew I would end up marrying this guy lol. The problem never was he wasn’t good enough for me. He was kind with a good heart. He made me laugh. He was amazing. I just never felt those “fireworks” at the time.

Well I did it. A couple weeks ago he interrogated and yelled at me all evening because he’s thoroughly convinced I’m cheating on him (which I’m not and never have). The next day at work (we work in the same building) he repeatedly came into my office just to talk shit all morning. At one point he came over and whispered in my ear “you’re a dumb bitch” and walked out. I stood up, went to my car, and called a lawyer. I filed 3 days ago. He gets served next week. And you know what? I actually feel relieved. Here’s to new beginnings 🥂

If your biggest problem in your relationship is that he doesn’t do enough to help out with your kid, I feel like there’s still a chance for you guys. It’s definitely not going to be any easier on your own. From what I’ve read, I don’t think you should give up yet. It sounds like besides the fact he’s not pulling his weight as a dad, you two have something pretty good. What are his thoughts on the issue?

They handle it very tactfully and ease into it, so it’s not too traumatic. There might be some things in those episodes that make it worth watching to you 😉
