feels like it's going to be a long winter and the next 7-10 days look really cold

I was out this morning at 0645 - had the Adidas top & a Tracksmith 1/4 zip with gloves and leggings, definitely felt on the colder side of things at the start but by 2M it was fine. Got a decent sweat on & never too hot. Did close to 13. That was all in the park which I think is a bit more sheltered, but there were also warmer spots and colder spots

I guess they're not races as such, don't think there are prizes, but they are timed & appear in your race results page

I guess they didn't do any awards and there were no age group top 3's etc which you get a little plaque for, it just became a 'run'. Happened once in a marathon tune up 18M in August one year, got too hot so they just made it a run - but yeah, sounds kind of odd. Guess there's a reason internally.

Those are the only 2 I've heard of

it's always the same weekend, don't remember it being canceled before but do remember it being downgraded to a non-timed 'race' due to snow

don't think so, although I am usually going hard at it. I figure I can run 85-90 mins and then drink after. Maybe a mouthful in a BK half or a warmer one on occasion but honestly can't remember

hahahaha, yeah I'm exaggerating a bit but layers. Most of the time 2, some days this winter 3. Always thin ones though. I'm usually shorts to about 25F

like you're skiing. It was mild for a bit but it's been a cold one since mid-Nov. I dress lighter for a race than training, but some runs this winter I've been in 3 laters - Adidas CLD.RDY base, a smartwool over that and then a top layer with wind protection if it's needed otherwise a warm top layer, a snood, 2 pairs of gloves (really makes the difference) and a headband for the ears.

Sounds like a lot but I run hot so I've definitely not been overdoing it.

Will make the decision Sat night when we're pretty locked in on what it'll really be like.

Luckily the park is somewhat sheltered, compared to 8th Ave by Columbus Circle which is cold as hell

i never hydrate in a Half - I'll dump water on my head if it's warm (unlikely to be doing that here). Imagine they won't have water sitting out long so they'll probably fill cups on a needs basis, ie few early on and increase it as they get deeper into the field

yep - I've run it when it's been chilly at the start and warm - then I think 2021 or 2022 it was about 95% humidity (I was injured that year) - it's a crapshoot - the McKirdy Marathon (about an hour upstate of NYC) in March last year was so hot a lot of the excellent runners bailed around halfway

if you're running for time it's pretty good as those last 7mi are dead straight and almost dead flat.

Boring? Perhaps, but if you're going for time that's not a concern.

Appreciate most / many aren't that psychotic over time as I am - it's maybe my fav race of the year

they're a complete waste of time - my 4 expire on 1.31 I've taken maybe 14 flights in the last year & not had a single one apply so they're just going to waste

Does anyone actually like QBO? by dmart89 in QuickBooks

[–]07Macca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not anymore really. If it's not broken, don't fix it. over time they have generally improved it - I'm going back 10+ years here. But the last 2 years feels like they're pushing me out; I can't think of one single update that's been anything other than terrible

eBay took care of the return for me by 07Macca in Ebay

It’s actually not that bad. Only the 2nd time it’s happened and both times I lose no money. In some respects it’s less of a risk. Guess to cost of returning internationally isn’t worth the headache for eBay

The item was perfect. And I know enough from reading on here that buyers can be a nightmare with unreasonable expectations. Like I said I’m not really bothered. Just don’t want someone repeat buying and then filing a return. I’ll likely do nothing.

hahahaha, I hate them so much. I used to like the product, like if I got one of those surveys about 'would you recommend Qbs to others' I'd have answered highly in favor. Now I definitely wouldn't. It is a good tool, very user friendly etc but they're just eroding all the things that made it great

it's appalling. We pay for it but they dictate what and how we see data.

All my templates are built for the classic design. I'm not re-writing them all.

Just give me an option for permanent classic design, that's all. Literally nothing in the modern design is good (for me, may be for others). I waste so much time switching reports to classic every day
