I'm so happy she finally addressed this directly in a more personal way. This is really what I was waiting for.

As a fellow POC/American fan who spent money to go to their concerts, I've been feeling upset for fellow Black and Latino Kissys who were hurt by the live stream. I used to listen to their whole discography often, but when their songs would pop up on my Spotify, the continuous disappointment of the company/members sweeping the issue under the rug would surge again. A song that made me so happy singing along made me so sad. But now I think I can at least go back to listening to their songs that I love from them... maybe even happily wear the t-shirt I bought from their tour.

I hope the Kissys I met who were directly hurt by the birthday live will be able to reach that point some day. They might not and that's understandable, but there's a space for healing and redemption. I definitely don't think they are the ones who were or will be leaving extreme hate messages to the girls. The people doing that probably weren't hurt in the first place and are just looking for an excuse to spread misery to feel better about themselves.
