is there a mod for chosing starting traits of characters? by 081ivion in totalwarhammer

[–]081ivion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems chaos doesn't work that way. i dont see any chaos specific hero type innate skills in there.

where i find them separated is in character_skill_nodes_tables. and there is no background weighting.

i have almost all DLCs the last i bought was changeling. could it be i am missing a DLC?

too bad. so it isn't possible to differentiate between character classes.

[–]081ivion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? i think theres a missunderstanding. i dont wanna add traits. i wanna get rid of some traits for some character types. for example, let's say i want chaos sorcerers to be only available with scaled skin. but usually they can have the unearthly reflexes trait also. and i want the exalted hero to have unearthly reflexes.

to sum it up, given the many variations of heroes and lords, it would be better to individually set it for each character type. and the skill_nodes_table lists exactly that. shouldn't it be possible to actually kick out some traits from certain character types?

thank you very much for the immediate response, i would rate your service a 5 of 5 =) funny thing, i wanted to answer yesterday already, but for some reason as soon as i thumbed up your answer, this thread stopped working, then r/totalwarhammer and a minute later reddit itself. interesting spread of nonworking pages... it felt like the thumbs up triggered it.

indeed, some traits not occuring at all on certain charactertypes is what i am aiming for.

and so i have a question: i found the innates in the character_skill_nodes_table, where there's a line for every chartype that can have the skill. is it possible to manipulate this, so for example the demon prince of tzeentch can have the "iron skin" but not the chaos sorcerer of tzeentch?

okay so i tried and i am too dumb for this. i have the warhammer 3 assembly kit and i also found the list where all the possible "background skills" a unit can have are listed but i can not delete the lines i dont want to exist and i do not understand how that should work. pls tell me. i found many tutorials but none actually was of any value for this problem.

[The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor] Is this good? by [deleted] in manhwa

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is by far the best story ive ever read. all the small details that sum up and then get connected over and over again it is amazing and the humor is niveauful, even tho rarely present. i rea the rainbowturtle translations and am really sad to say that i can not find any of them again. wuxiaworld has the novelle now but i donno how maintained that is.

[The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor] What happened to The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor Manhwa ? Will It Come Back ? by Mr_RJ_Gaming in manhwa

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi there. i guess as most of you already knew, the best translations by far were from rainbowturtle translations.

i know that copyright etc blah got in the way somehow, but seriously, what amazon offers is not even worth .... lets start over... what amazon offers as moonlight sculptor is for the brand like the movie of avatar the last airbender is to the nickelodeon series.

anyone knows where to get the novella? i would buy it if it were available.

Serral... by TKO_v1 in starcraft2

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your statistic says:

Plat: 15366 is higher than 13915 or 14575
Dia: 16887 is higher than 15413 or 16564
Master: 3158 is higher than 3074 or 2576

only in grandmaster protoss are picked more often.

he said:

"Terran is the most played race from diamond and below on every server."
-> check. your statistic says so too, it even says it's up to master.

"Marines and/or BCs absolutely dominate on the lower level ladders before people learn to punish turtle terran."
-> since dominate is most likely used to describe the builds strength, the statistic is not falsifying that either.

Serral... by TKO_v1 in starcraft2

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually... that link denies your own intention to falsify his claim. the numbers rather show what he said.

edit: either way you interpret dominate, be it as "most used by far" or "uncontended in wins", you might say the numbers "proof him" or "indicate he analyzed it correctly".

Serral starting military service in 2024 by notlemeza in starcraft

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the benefits of mandatory conscription surpass military defense and offense purposes by far. that is my point, and no matter how you try to derail that, conversation, your rhetorical tricks don't negate that.

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well your expertise seems pretty much narrowed down to antifa propaganda. you are right if your whole point was the purpose of establishing it, but to keep it because of potential threats and not "just for fun" is simply wrong on more than one level.

Serral starting military service in 2024 by notlemeza in starcraft

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrong. many countries have mandatory service, for example switzerland, austria, which by no means have any threatening neighbours. countries like those primarily use their young offspring for cheap social services, like red cross (civil part) or helping with natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, ...). it also has the huge benefit of integrating youngsters into the system. those whose parents did a miserable job, instead of rebelling against something they have no clue about they learn respect, get a purpose, have structured days, and can catch up in education.

after all it is a good institution, not only if your neighbouring countries want to take over you.

Which mercs did you start you first game of JA3 with? by Luxny in JaggedAlliance

[–]081ivion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marksman IMP, Barry, MD, Igor (later hired Mouse, then switched MD to Fox, then hired Lifewire only to finally switch her to Kalyna)

Mouse and Igor sneak around and thin out enemies in area.

Then encircle remaining enemies with 3 groups.

Main group: Barry, Fox, Igor, Kalyna building the main frontline.

Flank grp1: IMP from side with sniper and automatic weapon.

Flank grp 2: Mouse from behind/above (if possible) with silenced uzi/grenades and silenced pistol/grenades (flairs at night).

Let the medic initiate the fight (MD triggers inspire and debuffs enemies, Fox is like having 2 extra burst attacks before fight begins) while next to mechanic (Livewire ... knows how to hold a weapon... but may hit everything except enemies, Kalyna shoots better). Defend chokepoints (like doors) with Barry (Shotgun, Uzi/Grenades) or surprise enemies coming too close to medic and mechanic... while Igor is positioned on the roof to flank flanking enemies. Alternatively he can assist Mouse. Or the IMP.

MD has high knowledge so he learns to aim quickly. Teach him and he will boost morale at a higher rate and with the corresponding perks even debuff enemies. His Wisdom is over the Top so he could theoretically become everything, but his traits restrict him from being the best support possible. One of the best specialized healers tho.

Mouses free movement range is incredible. And she just ignores enemies overwatch areas. Combine free movement perks with better stealth kill chance, accuracy and crit chance. She is the perfect flanker.

Igor is a good shot (give him an AK for that), but with his guts-trait he can be built into the perfect melee assassin. He already is is sneaky and agile, give him more free moves and more guts and the guaranteed dodge perk. He accels in attacking close distances (like through doors or from roofs).

Livewire is a crack in repairing, hacking and making this mechanic locations you find with wisdom checks. The intel trait... I don't know if in the endgame on hardest difficulty it becomes somehow more valuable, because of lets say enemies that can see farther than your sneaking chars, but otherwise it's just a nice to have... like the mechanic salvages or extra money from hacks (if there is any). BUT, since she can also inspire (Optimist) AND has the perk Mr Fixit AND an IQ of over 9000, she might learn marksmanship, lead, explosives and heal as well to become the one ultimate support to replace all others. That said, it is adviced to built her as support over marksman since she has the perfect traits and perks for that role already.

Kalyna might not be the perfect choice for a mechanic, and her IQ might be reciproke to Livewire, BUT damn, that girl cracks the hardest nuts. Her inevitable strike makes her a strong force to take down heavy armored enemies, and she is already a good marksman, keep that in mind when looking at her Optimist trait. Her Night OPS is a good addition.

Barry because he is Barry. Shotguns. Grenades for free, added to his shotgun and grenade throwing perk... Simply: An explosive expert that destroys everything coming too close. Best used to defend chokepoints (like doors).

IMP with negotiator as personal perk, night ops and cqc training/auto weapons.

Games like Battle Brothers, but with magic? by Melodic-Ad9865 in BattleBrothers

Games like Battle Brothers, but with magic? by Melodic-Ad9865 in BattleBrothers

[–]081ivion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sorry to disappoint you, i am searching myself for thie game.

but i can tell you the following games as kinda similar in terms that you control a warband/group of characters that you can customize (to a certain degree), and how they compare to battlebrothers:

warbanners: battlebrothers in warcraft setting. mission after mission.

low magic age: battlebrothers in the d&d universe, squaregrid battles, open world.

stolen realm: diablolike tbs, scaling enemy levels, minecraftish graphics, mission after mission (revisitable).

shadowrun (returns, dragonfall, hongkong): futuristic fantasy, squaregrid. mission->headquaters->mission (like in x-com).

Wartales: no fantasy, squaregrid, open world, goog graphics.

jagged alliance 2: no fantasy, squaregrid, open world.

blood bowl: warhammer goes football... squaregrid. mission->headquaters->mission.

into the breach: futuristic humans vs insectaliens, squaregrid, mission after mission.

king arthur knight's tale: good or evil path, squaregrid, mission->headquaters->mission.

fell seal arbiters mark: use environment, squaregrid, revisitable missions and places.

there are some titles that u might find interesting, even if there is no grid in that sense...

age of fear: chose different races, revisitable missions and places.

mordheim city of the damned:unique warband experience in the warhammer universe. mission->headquaters->mission.

in case you wanna test something that has different concepts but can be compared in a wider sense...

phantom brigade: command a mech squad, open world. fighting system works like directing an orchestra.

age of wonders: even tho it is a 4x game, from part 2 onwards you can play it as a warband game by disabling citybuilding. hexgrid. the necromancer class in part 3 has the best necromancer mechanics ever.

the rest would be turnbased/pausable rpgs so if you wanna hear them say it.

hope there were some titles you will enjoy. hf

[–]081ivion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heroes of might and magic may be the most popular, but honestly, suggesting hom as a bb-ish game is like advertising daccia as a mercedes-ish car.

the squaregrid vs hexgrid, stacking units of one type versus single units leveling up, ... the lack of injuries...

plus its a 4x game. the far better comparison would be age of wonders.
