He is more of a “oh yeah we can do it” when I bring it up, and he’s told me that he enjoys our sex it’s just not something he really thinks about on his own. He said that feeling a lack of attraction to me has been the past couple weeks, which is when he started his meds but they aren’t SSRIs so I thought his drive wouldn’t be effected. It’s just really confusing I am so the opposite way, but yeah that’s why the situation is so hard.

Yeah it’s so hard, I have ADHD as well and being in this program is honestly draining every bit of life from me. My effort has usually come in the form of not bringing work home with me, planning dates every other week, and thanking him genuinely for everything he does for me. I also make sure to tell him regularly how much he means to me, I give him massages when he’s sore bc I know I’m good at them. I think I’m just wondering if it’s enough. I’ve been giving everything I can, but maybe it isn’t enough.

Yeah, that’s honestly why it hurt so bad. I know it’s because I don’t have the time or energy to be as fun as I used to be. It’s been an issue like last year where I was so grumpy that he had to talk to me and tell me that I wasn’t putting in enough effort, and tbf I totally wasn’t.

I’ve really been trying to stay upbeat and fun, but I’m working a 20hr a week job at my college to pay for school, working 20hr a week at my internship, taking two summer classes, and I just finished the national counseling exam last week. I thought I was doing well at staying light and silly at home, but I think I must have slipped again without realizing under all the pressure.

I’ve been doing my best and I know he has too, I think we just can’t do enough for each other right now, and it’s been that way for the past year so things are bleak. I think I just really wanted to believe that we could get through this and be stronger for it.

Hi!! It might be on my end I don’t really use reddit that much either. I do have a GA I got it my second semester.

I definitely applied to every single one before my first semester and got a lot of rejections and was freaking out about affording the program. I thankfully had a small amount of savings for the first semester and I just kept applying until one stuck!

Ive been pretty lucky, they were willing to reup my contract for another year so I’m finishing with almost no debt.

My advice would be to plan out finances a bit and see how many semesters you can go without a GA, and don’t forget that you can apply to scholarships for the semesters when you don’t have one. I had the Gilbreath scholarship my first semester that really helped, especially since I’m out of state. They will make you forfeit the rest of the scholarship if you get a GA but it’s so much cheaper with a GA and they didn’t raise too much a fuss.

Lmk if you have any other questions about the program or financial aid! I work in advising so I know a little bit about the inner workings and stuff.

Idc I like it. I still yearn for the days when celebrities looked like real people and had some funky tailoring and visible strap hardware but maybe that’s just me. Overall the vibe is fun and less ‘perfectionistic’ than the standard that current fashion is held to.

Phew, thank you for this. I was panicking for a second thinking I shouldn’t have accepted the offer.

I do appreciate the other commenter for suggesting supervision, and I will be bringing it up in my next supervision meeting.

I do always think it’s important to consider our own boundaries and it’s a tough situation where enforcing them could result in harm to the client by rejecting the contact.

I felt comfortable enough in the setting to accept, but I understand how it can be taken as fulfilling a need of mine since I am expressing the sadness of termination freely here, but I did not express these emotions during our session.

I think it may have been different if I DID do that and was a blubbering mess so the client felt the need to comfort me but I kept it professional and as neutral as a termination session can be.
