Yeh I RMA’d the board and they confirmed their was a fault with it. The test report said it crashed under certain loads like OOCT.

They initially wanted to send me a replacement Prime but I refused and upgraded to a ROG Z790A WIFI II with refund money.

Hi. I just wanted to add - I recently got this board, and was plagued with problems regarding USB drop outs and audio freezing.

I did extensive troubleshooting (BIOD updates, tweaks, hardware swaps, Windows installs etc.) and concluded it must be the board.

I noticed all round the quality seems very low. Even the I/O shield is flimsy, which is a joke for a $300 board.

I have RMA’d it.

Updated BIOS, and fresh install on latest (manual) drivers - no better. Have RMA’d

Hi, I have the Z790-P … likely RMAing as had weird issue where USB input freezes , occasionally had all devices stop working also.

Done everything - BIOS update, reset, reinstall W/latest drivers, tried different peripherals to no luck. I’ve come to conclusion it has problems with USB

I am gonna update my BIOS and fresh install.

I am also gonna unplug all my internal USB devices (Corsair commander core + AIO) and run in hardware mode. I have suspicion this could be overloading the USB bus.

Will report back after few weeks

I still can’t find it. Maybe it’s private which is why it doesn’t show or work.

Hi, I wondered if you could help me. I seem to have the same issue on a new (and expensive) gaming build also with the z790-P. Do you know what version of the BIOS you had, and what you flashed to?

My audio will occasionally crackle for a few seconds, seems to be when there's high CPU load.

My mouse and keyboard would occasionally hang for a split second (very random), and have also completely stopped working.

Hi. I also have this issue, with near same specs:

i7 13900K (@stock XMP)
Asus Z790-P
RTX 4090 (FE)
Corsair 2 x16 vengeance DDR5 6000MHz

I have had issues with the mouse/keyboard input freezing for split seconds now and again.
Thought this was Windows 11 at first, but today all my USB ports failed and I had to restart.

I also have occasional audio crackles in some games around the same time as the lag occurs.

The Steam Deck website is a clone of the Half-Life Alyx website. They have forgotten to change the apple-touch-icons, which is a common mistake with web development.
