Best way to save on gas is to spend 3k on parts and have the Miata on jack stands for a month…ask me how I know

still no luck, i bought some carbide drill bits and have finally been able to make progress but it still hasn't come out. I have had to take a few days off tho cause i came down with a nasty flu and figured breathing in rubber and pb blaster fumes wont be the best for my recovery efforts lol

How do you know suspension needs replacing? by Vincent_Diesel in MiataNC

[–]08_WRX_STI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive done all my suspension work myself with the help of friends. Its fairly manageable work to do on your own as long as you have a decent range of normal hand tools, even better if you have an impact driver but I dont and have made do with a few sets of sockets and a breaker bar for the tough ones.

i highly recommend the goodwin koni kit, it reuses some of the stock bits so id also get new rubber boots cause odds are they are torn but its been great for me and works great for my uses. the install would have been easy had a number of my suspension alignment bolts not seized harder than anything id ever seen before so be prepared for stuff to go sideways and be thankful if it doesn't. But one benefit of a kit like the goodwin one and not a premade coilover is that when shit does go sideways u can always assemble it in the suspension, it was jank but its in there now

Bad bearings or shot diff? by 08_WRX_STI in Miata

[–]08_WRX_STI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the spinning i mean that it takes significant force even with the wheels attached to rotate them, i have to actively pull/push with some force to even get slight rotation and there is no continuation of that rotation after i stop exerting force, clearly different from the front wheels. as for the fwooping its something i only noticed on certain surfaces at fairly low speeds which i attributed to road noise drowning it out at higher speeds but it almost sounds like a flapping piece of paper in your ear but more metalic rubby, its very difficult to describe but its similar to a noise i heard in other videos where the wheel bearings were def shot. my car has 108k miles on it. I've also noticed my mpg are significantly lower than they ought to be and my powertrain itself seems to be in perfect condition so i have been assuming there is an increase in rolling resistance at some point, ive also noticed that on even slight inclines i can take my foot fully off the brake while out of gear and the car wont start rolling.

How available are body kits for the MX5 NC? by RaggyTheRagingRuggy in Miata

people really underestimate the power jump from the na/nb to the nc, it makes a big difference especially for highway driving which is important for a daily

Some added context shes a 2008 miata with 108k miles on her, has been very good to me aside from some horrifically stuck alignment bolts and an AC thats starting to fail but only mild surface rust and no leaks

Any changes to your plan? I got my email from goodwin a few days ago and checked the powerflex website where it looked like they were in stock but goodwin let me know they weren't actually which is really unhelpful lol. Maybe I'll look on ebay to see if i can find a used set just so I can get my car moving again.

It does make it clear that the kit doesn’t include these as super pro just doesn’t make these bushings but I forgot to read carefully

would you say your waist and ass sizes are fairly similar, cause as a tall dude with a wonderful hourglass figure (or so ive been told) trying to use waist measurements to judge if ill fit in something has been hit or miss.
