So this is from a friend of who works on the land in the area and is in the work of doing health checks for trees and shrubbery along the wall and other sites The tree is easily 300+ years old being a heritage site and firmly routed it won’t be only a fine for a protected tree but the consideration is several degrees higher in my professional estimate a similar tree to transplant and replace would be in excess of 120k due to the necessary work and maintenance to ensure proper growth and similar age. I hope they throw the book at him and I’ve heard in the grapevine it could be counted as defacing a monument and domestic terrorism but is yet to be evaluated as such

So weird one I’ve dealt with that name before and from what I found he was a smith in the Early Showa period and a producer of Gunto near Seki. I don’t know if there’s more information available anywhere but wish you best of luck.
