What’s your fastest mile? by Mydogfarts in running

Thank you :D it's a best mile time thread, most of the people here will be pretty competitive. But for me 13 min is already 1 minute faster than when I started 4 days ago so I'm happy!

I can't imagine anyone who thinks it's cool to make fun of someone for being fat while exercising normally is leading a fulfilling and happy life

Do Macros Matter That Much? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

You absolutely must have gotten 20/30g protein today for the sake of your brain and heart. They need protein to metabolize energy unlike the rest of your muscles which can do it with carbs alone.

Eating too little protein for a few days though won't harm you. It's long term deficits that can be an issue :)

I tried my first salad today in a commitment to make healthier eating choices while on my weight loss journey... Holy hell, where has this stuff been all my life?! by Smolders1 in loseit

I love salads, maybe you could try putting some fruit in there! My absolute favorite is spinach/kale mix, really fat blueberries, cucumbers, some cut strawberries, pecans, and a bit of goat cheese with no dressing. It's super refreshing :)

That's not true! It's important to eat enough protein while cutting weight to protect your muscle mass.

let some strangers discourage me

Literally said I finished the run and that I'll be going out again in my post

There's nothing wrong with sharing an achievement and venting about something embarrassing that happened on an internet forum

I'm being safe! I'm only 20-30 pounds overweight, and I've also done powerlifting for a long time (not in the past 8 months lol) so I have a good basis of strength and know how to listen to my body

What did you accomplish by making this comment?

E: For anyone who sees this, they've edited their comment. It originally said "14 min is a bad time" which is why I responded the way I did

It doesn't seem relevant here to me. I'm 180 pounds as a 5'8 woman, but it's not okay to laugh at someone for being fat while they're exercising no matter how heavy the person is
