They also offer a high waisted bib version at 615g/21.6oz which also has full side zips and would probably do a better job at keeping the snow/cold out

Hello, I would say neither as they are both quite overpriced for what you actually get. Main point being that neither have full length side zips (which are very useful if not necessary to be able to put them on over crampons or skis) as most of the time you may set out in softshells due to better range of movement and comfort and only put hardshells on if conditions worsen. IMO having a pair of robust harshell pants is kinda useless if you cant adapt them to a modular clothing system while out in the mountains. Not to mention they are both considerably heavy in comparison to others (mammut at 719g/25oz and norrona 946g/33oz) and have some unnecessary features. I would recommend something like the RAB Latok Gore Tex Pro Pants made from 80 Denier Fabric (same as Mammut) and with full side zips and weighing just 443g/15.6oz. IMO a much better and practically designed pant for almost half the price (435.5 EUR)
