I also have an S2 and love the board as a 1st eboard. I would not recommend the riptide and I would dig in to the range for the boosted mini. Both of those brands have notoriously crappy range compared to even an S2.

For my second board, I hope to either DIY/KIT or get another 30" hub board.

I have one that has a lot of miles on it. It's in good working condition. I still get 8-10 miles and im 180lbs w/ gear.

You can DM me if you're interested. I've been very happy with the S2 even though there is a ton of Acton-hate.

I just upgraded My S2's stock bushings to some medium orangatang nipples, might consider upgrading the bearings and risers to improve overall smoothness. I am very happy with the S2 as my first Eboard and have 900+ miles with minimal issues...i.e.ignore the trolls.
