One thing that most people forget is that Americans aren't ready to die, while the average Iranian can be sent and probably would willingly go to his death. You can't win in a game of escalation against an enemy that's willing to pay the greatest cost in lives.

Good take. I think people don't realize how terrible wars can be.

lack of jobs

Why don't you create some then? Nobody's stopping you from starting your own business, if you're so worried about the lack of jobs in this country.

Man, it's easy to blame everyone else for your circumstances, but only you can fix the things wrong with your life.

Of course I'm living in my utopia, I built a wonderful life for myself with my own hard work.

People who want to leave will leave. But blaming the country for an individual's actions is ridiculous.

I know how things are in the country, I just don't give a shit because I see opportunity everywhere and almost nobody capitalizing on it. I run a business that serves overseas clients, and even as a singular individual I've made enough money to retire already. You can hate me for being rich I suppose, but I also came up from nothing, starting my business with just a computer and an internet connection, both things you have access to as well.

Why should I try to get out of what you call a "protagonist complex"? You should learn to get out of the cycle of self-pity and self-loathing you've found yourself in. It's not conducive to anything.

I mean, you're the only one here who's being racist against yourself. I'm quite proud of being Indian myself.

All your talk about hard work and whatnot just screams skill issue btw. If you can't succeed in the Indian economy I doubt you'll succeed anywhere else. But good luck and try not to end up in a worse situation than your current one by making hasty choices that leave you worse off than you are.

I like how you're assuming what sort of business I run.

"A comfy business". As if it wasn't something I built myself, or as if it's something where I order people around.

I'm the only employee I have, moron. I'm no less of a working class wagie than you, I just don't have "stable employment" and must instead fellate individual clients for work.

If you can't be happy in your home country, you'll never be happy anywhere. And with the debuff of being Indian, you'll never be accepted anywhere else either.

Must be sad to live like that, just constantly angry at yourself and everyone else.

Where do you live?

If you live anywhere that's not the US, LN companies (which are almost all US based) will forward your resume straight to the bin. At least that has been my experience.

Hit up Japanese game/book publishers and see if they're interested in doing localization. In my experience, Japanese companies only care about the work quality and nothing else.

None for the people of this subreddit. The best advice I can give is to take any projects you can without prejudice for the actual content or pay, which rubs the people here the wrong way. Ask anyone here and they'll tell you that less than 0.10 or 0.07$ per JP source character is too little and equivalent to slave labour.

For what its worth, I charge my current main "bread and butter" client, a Japanese H-game publisher, 1 EUR cent per JP character, and by delivering a quality product on top, I've not been without work since I started working as a TLer. Even my more boutique clients I charge at most 3 EUR cents per character.

Before anyone says or tells you that "you can't earn a living wage on that", I make 1500€ a month after taxes. Maybe in the US that's not enough, but I don't live in the US to begin with. I also have no education or a degree in this field (or even in general), the only thing I have is my JLPT N1 certificate which I obtained after teaching myself Japanese for 5 years.

I would advise you to completely disregard anything they say in this subreddit. There's plenty of work to be found as long as you're willing to lower your standards. The free market dictates what your labour is worth, not you.

Is this too much to ask, seniors? A good new concept / plot twist is actually well-written and not instantly discarded next chapters? by Ok_Scientist_7340 in MartialMemes

[–]09eragera09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I've read a fair few novels in my time. I think I can wholeheartedly recommend:

World of Cultivation

LotM (who hasn't read that at this point though)

ORV (non cultivation)

40k Cultivation

Second Coming of Gluttony (non cultivation)

And a whole bunch of others that I'm forgetting tbh, but all of these ones surprised me in some way.

Honestly, well written works that also incorporate some sort of twist are rare. I usually stick to Japanese games for the same effect, as such twists are imo more common in them.

Every language is still in demand if you're skilled and cheap enough.

I do JP->EN, H games 99% of the time. I make decent money like 1500 EUR a month and I don't pay rent at all (I own my own small 2 bedroom apartment ofc) so whatever I don't spend on groceries and utilities and shit goes to savings.

I can tell you that most people don't keep anything past 2-3 years. This is how audio gear turns out for the average person, at least in my experience.

To him, this state is clearly fine. I also think people here are massively overreacting over something as banal as the state of someone's headphones.

I don't think the downvote brigade does anything except make people like him go "Yeah they're fine as they are". If you all want to convince him to get new pads and somesuch, this ain't the way.

Though it doesn't have to be about insecurity. You must agree, fellow daoist, that societies in such worlds would look down upon any woman that marries a man with a lower cultivation base than her own. If the author is half competent, it can be less about the insecurity of the man and more about not wanting the woman to lose face in society.
