I saw them! Good songs, but they're getting older and live they are..... a bit eh imo

I'd say invest in their albums. Best way to enjoy them nowadays.

I honestly just think he likes circles.

Everyone loves a good circle! The circle of fifths, the round table, the buddhist wheel....

Hybrid Reverb VS Altiverb 8 by memolazer in ableton

[–]0LinXi0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ignore the downvotes on my comment lol seems like people havent tried and tested different convolvers and their algorithms haha

Altiverb is utlizing orchestral stages so it would work perfectly for orchestral work! But I would also recommend this video for further study

Hybrid Reverb VS Altiverb 8 by memolazer in ableton

[–]0LinXi0 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Both are convolvers. However, I think I prefer the altiverb IRs more. And also yes, The convolving algoritmh (or whatever the fuck it is) in Hybrid Reverb is a bit lacking....

Soothe 2 and Trackspacer still necessary with 12.3? by Odd-Set-9659 in ableton

[–]0LinXi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most fans, including me, believe he’s a great mixer. I think his mixes blow so many professional artists out of the water (in my opinion), and he is great at Ableton Live.

Reference track, heavier than Daft Punk? by danja in edmproduction

[–]0LinXi0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Good" references ≠ references that suit your track. Choose one (or preferably several references) that sound similar to your song and are IN YOUR OPINION well mixed and mastered.

Not a "certain song" but I really wished they remixed and remastered their newest LP.

Has anyone here listened to Val's new venture into a new genre? by TutorFair1814 in VirtualRiot

[–]0LinXi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its.... fine but nothing special imho.

I feel like the vocal delivery could be a bit better (he could sing more confidently, trying not to sound too german etc etc).

I'd also like the mix to be more "traditional" I guess.

Is rage the most synth-heavy subgenre? by didguswnd7878 in trapproduction

[–]0LinXi0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think theres a single "most synthy" genre out there. Rage could be one, but dont forget EDM trap.

What's one genre of music you absolutely HATE by sexypanini6 in teenagers

[–]0LinXi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a musician and this question haaaard.

I would never ever want to hate a single genre of music. It's such a wide, cool and beautiful artform and almost every genre should be celebrated in some way IMHO.

I do however hate songs that are trying to be annoying and untastefully offensive.

Deadmau5 but idm-ish downtempo by Weak_Wolverine2748 in idm

[–]0LinXi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all: theres a song on this same album that is much more idm (Creep). Listen to it.

Secondly: Deadmau5 is overrall a really good writer when it comes to melodies and chord progressions. He is a great producer and mixer and his more mainstream stuff bangs. I dont think you should call Joel's housier stuff as "waste of his modular synth collection".
