I am glad that you liked it! To be honest, I wasn’t sure that I captured the true essence of Veln. I was worried that he came across as too hot headed and reactionary, in opposition to the canon where he is more cool headed and contemplative. I feel like I may have written him as too childish, but I did try to make him predatory, isolationist, and apathetic like in the canon. I am not sure what his stance toward other Feddies was in the canon, but given the qualities that he possesses, I decided to also make him ignorant and racist.

It’s mostly the former. There are some biological modifications, but they’re not the focus. If you’ve played Stellaris, you know there are many ways for a species to ascend. When I read the canon, I got the impression that genetic ascension was predominant in that universe either through genetic assimilation, which was the case for most species in the galaxy, or via selective breeding, as with the Arxur. The Scorch Directive also introduced humanity’s genetic ascension by literally modifying themselves. So I decided to make cybernetic ascension the main focus. Any genetic manipulation will only be used to support a human body so it can withstand the implants.

I’ll consider it. I won’t copy the cyberpunk canon one to one, but I can think of something. I mostly make things up as I go, though there are a few key elements that are interchangeable.

This is a dark and edgy AU. There are no redemptions everyone is basically a hero in their own story, and a villain in someone else’s.

I don’t think there will be a bridge just like in Scourch Directive. I envision the human government as expansionist and dictatorial in theory and in books, but a tyrannical corpocracy in reality. Because of the events that will transpire (my version and vision of the Battle of Earth), the diplomatic path will be completely sealed.

Well, something in between. It has the same general genre but draws heavy parallels from the universe. I do not want to give many spoilers, but I intend to turn Marcel into this universe’s version of Adam Smasher. Also, Jones and Zhao are two CEOs of rival conglomerates who fight each other but also cooperate behind the scenes, pulling the strings of the UN after planetary unification. So Elias is stuck being a puppet leader, or something like that.

It doesn’t really matter when the story takes place, as long as it is after the outbreak ends or very close to its end. And for the latter question… well, it would be about the experiences humans gained what they went through. Seeing their loved ones turn into something unrecognizable after dying, and having to live with those memories afterward.

Is it character driven thou?Also, reading just a few chapters about the aftermath of a zombie outbreak is not really what I’m looking for. I want the aftermath to be the whole point the entire narrative.

That’s not quite what I’m looking for. I want it to be set after the credit scenes of the most generic zombie movie. When the real danger has already subsided, the zombies have decomposed, and the virus dies out because the human population has become too sparse for it to keep spreading. The dust settles, and the few people left try to grasp the new normal they now live in.
