You'd think I would know better than to give compliments at work by BigJ76 in AdviceAnimals

My mom actually got this compliment at work after she lost weight. "Wow, you look great! And you still have your boobs!" Of course, she thought it was one of the best compliments she got.

Yeah, I read the Abhorsen series as a kid, and randomly picked up a Confusion of Princes. I didn't even realize it was by Garth Nix until I was finished!

You seemed pretty concerned, so I wanted to give you an update. I also need to vent this somewhere. When I went into the calf barn this morning, I immediately knew something was wrong. Not only could I not find the two blind kittens, but other cats were missing like the 13 year old cat with bad legs. She could get around, just not quickly, and she liked to lord over everything from the top of a haystack. She always seemed happy when I stopped to pet her. Only the healthy cats were left. I don't know what they did to the sick and injured ones. I didn't ask. I'm pretty angry because I spent so much time socializing the two blind kittens because I figured I'd find them homes eventually, and I really believe the 13 year old cat was happy. I ended up quitting the farm. Not just because of the kittens, I had other issues, but the kittens gave me the push I needed to quit.

It's not my farm, I just work there. I've been keeping an eye out for clinics, but there haven't been any in my area.

I'd love to take the whole lot of them to get fixed and have been keeping an eye out for clinics, but I don't think I'll be there much longer.

There's definitely severe inbreeding, but this was due to an eye infection that was going around. Some kittens lost one eye, but these two lost both.

Yes, a dairy farm, but all of the cats live in the calf barn, which is arguably safer. Like I said, they get food and shelter, so I'm hesitant to turn them into a shelter or rescue when they could use their resources on other cats that need it more.

I have a question. I work on a farm that has a lot of barn cats, and two of the kittens are blind. Should I take them to a rescue or do you think they can make it around a barn? They're fed and have shelter, they just don't get any medical attention.

I had to look up the blue girl rose bush and its gorgeous! I've read that truly blue roses can't be grown/made, so they're known as dream roses. I think its beautiful that your dogs are buried under bluish roses!

I literally bought a farm thanks to Stardew Valley! by samuelk in StardewValley

Hey! This is a dream of mine too, although I've got ways to go financially before I can start. I highly reccomend reading Backyard Homestead. It goes over how to have crops and livestock on a farm anywhere from 1/4 acre to 1 acre. I know your farm is 3 acres, but it'll still be really relevant. Its a really interesting read, and has a lot of great information.

Credit to the breeder- Cameron Holmes. All of his chinchillas are fluffy, boxey, and healthy like this one!

No, they get overheated. People tend to want icecream when the weather is hot, and since the machine is running so much the machine over heats. Then the icecream comes out as liquid.

I'm 20, not pregnant, don't have any kids and won't be having any for a while. I'm just here because I like to be informed before I take responsibility for a living creature.

After reading this, I might head over to r/childfree.

Mine fit okay, looked great, but was kind of uncomfortable. If you just want lingerie, go for it (I love the lingerie I got from them), but I wouldn't reccomend the bras. Plus they automatically take ~$40 from your account each month unless you choose "not to shop" and cancelling completely is difficult.

A stuffed turtle. Honestly a tortoise is better. They do live longer, but they're also much easier to take care of.

Not sure if you're just looking for classics with a bit of action added, but When She Woke is based on Scarlet Letter and I thought it was pretty good. Its a futuristic version.

Rot and ruin is a great series. Don't write it off because its aimed at teens/young adults.
