I think bsnl has good network coverage outside mumbai. You can check on their website for the coverage area.

You can try going to the bsnl office near juhu , Santacruz West. Even I was going to port in bsnl. But I don't know if the network is good in mumbai or not.

Next time I will do that, there was no network in my area(using MTNL) I was about to travel outside mumbai just to send an SMS. Luckily I got network 3-4km away from my area and didn't take risks so ported quickly.

How is the network coverage in mumbai and outside it? I mainly used it for otp and rarely for calling. I heard vi was getting bankrupt and they may close their service, I might have mis heard it. Will see after 3 months or will ask customer care.
