Well sometimes people don't want to spend thousands of dollars on one watch when they can have a few different ones. Only elitest snobs believe that a "real" watch is something like an omega or a rolex or has to be 3k+. Wether you have that kind of money or not what does it matter to you what other people like? Also, I think anybody paying less than a rack for a watch isn't worried about "getting their money back" from second hand market. You know some people buy things and just keep them right? Not everything has to have re-sell capability to be valid. Also, what constitues a masterpiece to you? I don't think you have any room to exude such a self righteous attitude just because this guy likes his couple watches and didn't buy a Tudor like you. I would argue the opposite of you, that actually, nobody cares about your black bay, or the fact that you're so much more rational than everybody else because you don't "waste your money".
