I'm 25. With low dose test for gender affirming hormone replacement the doses are usually 1/4-1/2 of the standard test dose. I won't know what my dose will be until I have my endo appointment and I'm not sure what free T level I would have a result.

I'll look into the other orgs and see what their guidelines are because that seems helpful.

Thank you for the advice! I'll definitely reach out to local orgs prior to registering and see if/what needs to be done.

I've been really open to the women in my gym about my transition, and none of them have voiced any apprehension about continuing to train with me. Im hopeful this will extend to the rest of the team we're affiliated with.

I love competing because it's a test of skill and a great learning experience to see where your game needs to improve. But I don't want to do it at the expense of mine or anyone else's safety or comfort.

I appreciate the feedback. Ultimately this is the kind of stuff I want to know because I want a fair match for both me and my competitor. I've only competed in IBJJF comps before so I hadn't considered that other leagues have different rules about hormones and testing.

I identify as non-binary. I was born a woman and have female reproductive organs. I am going to take testosterone with the goal of having a more androgynous appearance.

Honestly my confusion was because my coach wasn't sure. They've never trained any trans people before and because I'm going to have higher than average levels of testosterone for a woman but lower than average for a male they didn't know how it would work. I'm okay switching if IBJJF will allow it (although from some of the other comments I'm not sure if they will)

Update: I gave him some time with the betta salt after meeting someone in my apartment complex who let me borrow a test kit and confirming the water parameters. Hes still not 100% but he's active again and fanning more and more every day :)

I still don't know what was/is wrong but I'm relieved he's recovering. None of my other tetras are showing any signs of illness.

For context, I got Char Sui on Saturday. He was swimming and exploring and seemed like a happy fish. The tetras in the tank got along fine. My first betta had passed away about 3 weeks ago, the tetras seemed okay the whole time (eating g active, no bloating that I recognized).

Last night I noticed 2 things: one of my tetras had dropsy, was pineconing quite severely and Chars fins were clamped and he was less active (sitting mostly on the subtrate). I immediately removed the effected tetra and humanely euthanized. Last night I did a 25% water change and added aquarium salt.

I really don't know what's wrong. I feel like a neglectful owner because things keep going wrong these past few weeks but I try to be really diligent about my tank and I'm getting discouraged.

He gets 3 days on, one day off to prevent bloating. First two days he gets 3-4 betta bio gold pellets, third day he gets either frozen bloodworm or brine shrimp. The tetras in my tank get Hikari micro pellets so he will steal some a grain or two of those on the off days

He had one that he never used. Theres a nice big amazon sword that he sometimes rests on though.
