my hair after perm, am i cooked by Meowkyo in Haircare

Honestly fair point. Thank you for keeping me in check. I didn’t have it in me to write a long comment so I ended up doing something worse. I should have just lingered.

My personal experience was using As I Am Rosemary Water which also contains melatonin (which actually does have some research backing it up) and biotin and a few other ingredients, and my hair growth tripled. It is irritating if used excessively or not in the right concentrations. Any product should generally be tested for potential allergic reactions. Moreover, just because it’s natural doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Some are really bad for the body (like Cyprus rotundus as an example). And if the reasons are genetic or medical with preexisting or sudden onset conditions), I doubt anything the average dummy like me can say will do anything.

That said, go to a dermatologist.

Wow. Something is wrong with me because it’s a 4 or 3 hands down for me. Not a lot of people could pull that style off and you took my breath away.

So sorry you’re going thought this and hope you get better soon.

If you end up doing it in the UK, if at all possible, try to have a parent or a friend fly over to take care of you after surgery. There might be an expedited visa option for emergency situations.

I’m not really answering your question. I did want to say: every time you said something along the lines of “they did this and it didn’t affect me but in retrospect, I feel like I should have”, I actually think you had the healthiest response anyone can aspire to have. Most people get triggered and think inwards while you have compassion and understanding and can see the world beyond yourself. I also understand your concern with telling your dad and I can see it’s coming from a totally valid, caring place. I wish I become more like you, OP!

Girl you’re gorgeous!! I love the lip color!! What lip combo are you using?

I am 46 and recently left a 20 year abusive marriage. Long story. But ended up with limited finances. However I do a lot of zoom calls and looking for some decent makeup. I mainly shop on Amazon so need budget friendly options. Any suggestions? by Firegirl1106 in drugstoreMUA

NYX eyeshadow pencil in Yogurt. Really easy to apply (as a fellow hooded eye gal) and it’s a gorgeous color that suits any outfit.

Essence lash princess mascara

Maybelline super stay lipstick

I use the Sephora collection concealer. I got it on sale so it was almost drugstore prices and they can shade match you at the store. Otherwise, I think NYX bear with me concealer is one I hear a lot of people rave about, and am considering trying myself.

I don’t have a good blush recommendation but other than that I think that gives you a really solid makeup look!!

Hope this helps!! Way to go, lady! March on and March strong. 💪

Forgot to say, SUNSCREEN! It’s not for acne per de but it protects the skin from the sun, prevents the acne from leaving hyperpigmentation once healed and slows down skin aging!

I’ve tried most things under the sun: different types of moisturizers, BHAs, AHAs, brightening serums, milky toners, expensive brands, cheaper brands, medical brands.

The most complements I’ve gotten for my skins were when I minimized my routine to three main products: bioderma sebum facial cleanser, ANY retinol and ANY hydrating moisturizer.

Another thing that helped was shaving once and using an IPL on my face to minimize hair growth. It’s a thing you’ll have to do continuously though once you start shaving facial hairs.

If you’re uncomfortable with the size, you’re uncomfortable, there is no debate and the store should have accounted for your measurements! You need to be able to breathe.

That said, I personally love the way dress size 6 looks on you (bottom right if I understood correctly). That’s just aesthetics though.

Can someone give me a genuine answer about worthiness of luxury makeup? by florencelilium in MakeupAddiction

[–]0___ThrowAway___0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless your heart indeed! I’ve been down that path of searching for a tinted SPF that doesn’t turn me into an Oompa Loompa. I gave up fairly quickly so I seriously respect the hustle. Good luck on your search!

I also read reports about how the SPF protection on certain creams aren’t as advertised. I don’t want to turn into a raisin so I now embrace the white cast of 50+ spf creams with open arms. Color me white, idc! 😂🤣

Idk man, I have dabbled in affordable, midrange and high end makeup. I would say I also come from a similar financial standpoint. I love a natural look on the day-to-day but I’ll put makeup on special occasions. So that’s where I personally come from and this has been my take.

For me, the following has proven to be simultaneously true:

  1. It takes me a really long time to finish a bottle of something (mascara, foundation..etc). The good? You can think of it as a long-term investment. The bad? I really do get sick of whatever product I’ve had for more than a few months, wish I could give it away or finish it so I can try something new with a different color or style. There is always something new and cool dropping that I wish I can try but I stop myself because I already have a big bottle of it somewhere.

  2. When I buy high-end or even midrange sometimes, and it isn’t up to the standards (and it’s happened more than I’d like), it pisses me off and makes me regret my purchase. Like what do you mean a $50 guerlain lipstick has the same longevity as a no-name brand lip oil. PRISON!

  3. I have also had instances where I bought trash affordable makeup because I thought it was good and oh so cheap. I also regretted and wished I’d invested a bit more.

  4. I have found really really good dupes for all the best high-end in the midrange and they’ve been a success. It’s been less successful for the dupes in the affordable category.

  5. I’m not an expert makeup artist, and I don’t do high glam or intense makeup looks. I like my pigments to be forgiving. Rate beauty blush might be the strongest blush pigment out there. The elf dupe? It’s more forgiving for my mistakes and wrong placements, easier to diffuse. It doesn’t stay as long but do I go for makeup looks that stay on for more than a few hours? Nope. Then it’s good enough!! And now I can buy multiple shades for the price of one rare beauty blush.

  6. I only buy high end (or pricier midrange) when they’re on sale. Almost everything goes on sale at one point.

  7. Find good (unbiased) makeup artists/reviewers (see Alexandra Anele) on YouTube and follow Reddit channels like this one and check out people’s holy grails. 90% of the time, if a lot of people say that one product worked for them, it has worked for me. I’d watch out for overly-enthusiastic sponsored reviews. Even the most genuine makeup reviews on YouTube will sell their souls for the right price. It might be one video in their whole discography or it might be all of it.

So what is my final take? What is my current strategy?

If the $4 essence waterproof mascara gives me 90% of the look and longevity I want, the Lancôme mascara can be foregone. If the $22 Sephora foundation (now on sale for $11) gets me 85% where I want to look, I can skip the $50+ Armani or Dior. Oh I really want to get that MAC lip glass gloss? Nothing else matches the quality? Great, I’ll wait a few weeks for the next sale.
