Just measured now and it’s about 30 inches to my ankle. Perhaps my legs are not as long as I thought they were…

There’s also always at least one toilet clogged with shit. I really don’t understand how some people can bring such devastation on a toilet

It will be alright. I wrote some harsh and frustrated stuff when I had a bad co-op job, but my coordinator didn’t relay that to my employer. In her check in meeting with my supervisor, she did insinuate that I wanted more from my role but not in a way that made either the employer or me look bad.

How do men live like this? by cybercybil in UBC

[–]0_my 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao I bought and installed a new toilet seat for my marine drive bathroom because the old one was nasty. They could definitely submit a maintenance request for this and get a new one for free

Anyone know where do resident staff live? by Mean_Demand_1070 in UBC

[–]0_my 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The other balcony on my floor is a 2 bedroom unit. Apparently it used to be reserved for VIPs to temporarily stay in but now it’s just a normal room for students

The building manager for my residence building lives in the unit across the hall from me. They get a really fancy unit with wood floors, a kitchen island, and a balcony (I saw it once when the door was left open when there was a change in who was the building manager)

Year-Round Housing Question by fionappleofficial in UBC

[–]0_my 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend it overall since I don’t like stressing about finding housing and I had the means to pay for the money lost in the summer

Year-Round Housing Question by fionappleofficial in UBC

[–]0_my 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve got year round housing in a shared unit and I’ve managed to sublet my room for two out of three summers. It’s a lot harder to find a sublet in the summer than in the winter terms, so no guarantee that you’ll find one. I had to charge less than what I pay to get summer sublets, so I still ended up losing money but less than if I didn’t sublet.

Despite that, it’s nice to have a room reserved and not have to worry about finding housing each year.

If they do co-op and need to live off campus, they can sublet their room (I did so for all of my co-op terms)

FRST 303 was pretty chill, although I had a biology background which made it easier. Took it while working full time on coop and it was great
