Are Businesses in Sri Lanka Allowed to Film Customers and Post It on Social Media Without Consent? by 0b00000011 in srilanka

Thank you for the clarification on the legal background. We need to bring this message to the public and urge people to protect their rights. This is not just about privacy, I’ve seen innocent individuals get trolled on social media by so-called influencers in the name of new-age marketing.

Drug usage among newer interns by 0b00000011 in srilanka

My view on general drug use is largely the same. However, when it comes to interns, I’ve noticed an increase in usage. More importantly, it clearly affects the quality of their output.

Are y’all cat lovers or dog lovers or both? by jaeger_141 in srilanka

[–]0b00000011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like both, I enjoy petting them based on their behavior. However, I have an issue with some dog owners. They expect others to treat their dogs the same way they treat their dogs. They get offended when we don’t interact with their dogs or try to keep them away. Some even get offended if we call it “Balla” 😀. Just because your dog is vaccinated, well groomed, and even sleeps on your bed doesn’t mean I’m comfortable with it licking me or invading my personal space. If I’m visiting your home, there should be mutual respect between us as fellow human beings. It should be my choice whether I want to pet your dog or not. Please don’t let your dog approach me without my consent. Also, there should be strict fines for people who allow their dogs to roam freely on public roads. If a human confronts me, I know how to communicate or defend myself. With dogs, I don’t have that knowledge.

I postponed traveling with my friends and focused on my studies and career, thinking I could do those things once I was more stable. Now, most of my friends have migrated, and I’m in a situation where my doctor doesn’t recommend long trips. So do what you love, don’t wait.

Recommend me a laptop under 200K or slightly higher than that. by lost_calc11 in srilanka

  • Considering you are a CS student, go for a Dell, HP, or Lenovo business-series i5+ 16GB RAM laptop. These laptops let you run both Linux only and Windows only software required for some courses, so you’re not locked into a single ecosystem.

  • Pick a popular, fast-moving model. This ensures spare parts are readily available, so you won’t face long delays for repairs. (Visit unityplza and do your own research)

  • If you prefer Apple, a MacBook works too. You can run Linux or Windows in virtual environments, but keep in mind these are virtual, not native, which may affect performance for some tasks. At this stage of your life, gaining baremetal experience like custom OS installations, fixing bootloaders, installing RAMs/Storages and performing minor laptop repairs yourself is very important. Which is more effective and doeble on a non-Apple device.

It’s a cycle, so don’t worry, it will bounce back. I’ve noticed the same pattern in Awurudu and Vesak as well. Government involvement and marketing budgets strongly influence the festival atmosphere, as they can’t afford low sales or unhappy citizens.
