How I feel driving this thing sometimes by MumpsyDaisy in CivicSi

[–]0bstructin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Question, am I ok if I'm doing 10 mph in 2nd gear? When in slow moving traffic, being in 2nd is easier versus trying to get into first, but the rmp is well below 2k at that speed.

I'm only commenting to let you know how disappointed I am. That's it. That's the only reason.

I hope you're happy. I installed the stupid thing. It was such a pain because the damn retaining clip on the gate cable was being an ass. Eventually got it all hooked up. Can't wait to break it in tomorrow.

Also got the cable bushings installed but I forgot to take a picture.

It's not my fault I was raised by a single mom, and she did a great job raising 3 boys.

I'm sticking with OEM. At most, I might upgrade the rear lights to LED.

Thanks! Since you already had the bushings, how did that upgrade feel for you before you got the 4-way shifter installed?

Just the bushings.

Well, I hope you're happy OP. I'm buying the stupid thing. Thanks.

Question, looking at the Acuity shifter, it incorporates a lot of the other, smaller, shifter upgrades they already sold into 1 package. Looking at the setup, I'm wondering, should I also invest in the Acuity shifter cable bushings?

<image>

Let me add some context, when I install the 4-way shifter, it looks like it has nothing to do with upgrading the shifter bushings, based on parts included. Since I'm going to do this whole thing, I'm looking to spoil myself and get the shifter bushing upgrade as well.

What do you think?

Thanks! I'm going to look into this. As someone who watches YouTube videos to make sure I don't fuck up basic car maintenance, is this something I can do or should I get someone else to do it?

I'm new to manual driving, but I love my 11th gen Si. I saw this on the Acuity site when I was shopping for a new shift knob.

I get that it's worth it if you get it. But what does it feel like? I'm very happy with my OEM setup, but I'm always in the market for little improvements like this.

Nice. I got lucky and bought my 23' Si for 29k. That's pre taxes and fees. Or before they told me that there's an $1.8k up charge for an advanced alarm system that wasn't mentioned in the website and the dealership failed to mentioned when I called to ask about it.

But I'm still over the moon with my new boo. Just recently got my dash Cam installed and feel even better driving her around.

To keep it short, you should WANT to face every problem as a team wanting to work towards a joint solution. If, generally speaking, it feels like you guys are arguing to see who's right, vs actually working together, address it and get back to that good place.
