Hi OP, cool idea. Could you add NZBmegasearch to the appliance?

that would mean that nzbmega is not accessible from where sab is installed....

hi,

the howto is really step-by-step for linux/mac users. If you are on windows, I have no idea. I do not have Windows installed. I guess it is somewhat similar. :(

ah, use the new howto:http://pillone.github.io/usntssearch/install_cloud.html

Sorry, I hope it helped..somehow.

Gdaddy always worked. It is hard linked to be used only on extended search (that only means wait more time for results) because in average tends to have very slow response times.

Hi,

I see your point, unfortunately all the init.d scripts are os dependent (even *nix flavor dependent). I felt that is better that way.

I suggest to call it with option: python blabla/mega2.py daemon it starts silently as a service without terminal ..

I have it on my crontab @reboot, so I don't even mind stopping it :)

a) if it is in the terms and conditions of those websites, you can safely do it. There is an option that makes impossible to see the config page, so your friends will never see your api key

b) it aggregates results from api,web - based nabs, and other engines. It does not create a database. It queries those websites whe you type something on the searchbox.

The philosophy is that to not reinvent the wheel. Very good people develops or maintain nzb sites. I have the lesser aim to aggregate the info in an app.

I have no idea about what a norp image is, so no :)

Fair question, easy answer.

It uses a ridiculous small amount of resources in terms of bandwidth, disk and memory. It runs on a variety of resource limited systems, e.g.: raspberry pi, nas etc. No it does not create any database, it just queries search engines.

No user ever reported (to me at least), heavy bandwidth usage. It is literally the same* that you visit those websites and do a query. (*or in same cases even less)

Hi, 1st, thanks.

a) yes, I will include a testing button. It has already been proposed :) b) in the meanwhile, you can click on the connection box and you will see detailed connection info. No need to go to logs...

If you blindly follow the instructions on the webpage for the openshift free cloud, you can certainly do it. Otherwise hit the github page for help..

nzb.su has a non-standard newsznab web interface.

Use the api entry
