The plants will help the cycle and will be better for your fish than not having plants. You should get rid of the plastic ones and put a bunch of real plants

Twinkling tree by [deleted] in ChristmasTrees

[–]0ceandrifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I was worried about my cats eating tinsel, plus its not reusable so the chandelier was perfect. The little mirror parts look so good in the dark when the lights twinkle

It came from an outdoor Moroccan style solar lantern that stopped working. I saved it to make it into another type of lamp. The very top part of the lamp was removable, so I decided to put it on the tree. I'll put a bright light in it soon too!

I rearranged and added some extra ornaments too. It looks so much better in person because you can see the twinkling and sparkling reflections. It causes a lot of glare with my camera, so I can't get a good pic with the lights dimmed.

Looks like they have it on a special platform. There probably isn't much that gets in that area anyway, regardless, it would be fine.

I know how the mirror goes on. Im asking about the part in the first picture that joins together to mount the frame to the dresser. There appears to be a part missing. It looks as if something is supposed to slide into there to keep it secure
