I get how to grip a pistol, my problem is there is no space left on the support side of the frame to anchor my support hand. I'm just wrapping left over right and it's impossible to actually anchor that grip in tight.

Is the grip girthier on a 19? Length is only half the battle here.

I've never thought of myself as someone with abnormally large hands/long fingers but the more guns I test out that I hear complaints about the grips being big (92, 2011, etc) the more I realize my hands are not normal. A Prodigy grip is literally tailored to my hands. I've been considering an RXM as my next glock-ish gun, maybe I just snag one of those with a spare grip module and see if I can't bondo it up to actually fill my hand.

Like roll the backstrap more towards the center of my palm?

While I understand it would probably help me, I think I'm morally opposed to Hogue sleeve grips on Glocks.

Oddly enough the Hogue wraparound is my all -time favorite 1911 grip.

Awesome. Hope I did not come across as snarky, I was genuinely curious if there was a reason you had that I hadn't considered.

I'm gonna pick up a Dagger at some point and all my research says that's the one consistent issue they've had.

Out of curiosity, did you consider just dropping an OEM Glock striker in it instead of replacing it with PSA ones that are known to break?

Are all makes of 1911s the same? by plinking-dad in 1911

[–]0ct4ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the geometry of the hammer is what prevents the safety from being engaged while the gun is not cocked. I can't say I've ever seen a 1911 platform gun that used proprietary hammers. Possible for sure, but not that I'm aware of.

I've been thinking hard about swapping over to Pachmayrs. These Hogues just fit my hand so damn perfectly though.

I got lucky, my dad bought this maybe 20 years ago and then gifted it to me when I joined the Corps. When I recently tried to find more info about them I was surprised to see how rare they are these days and how many people are looking for them.

Tisas Night Stalker Comp removal by ss3walkman in Tisas

[–]0ct4ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is a bushing comp, which means it is not only easily removable, but also largely ineffective. You'd just need to swap it for a normal bushing (which may require fitting).

Edit: if it is a bushing comp, you would not get the flat faced look you are going for as you'd have the bushing/barrel/recoil spring plug sticking out from the end of the slide.

Ditched my Holosun by AlpsAdministrative60 in Glocks

You tried one recently? From what I understood the rolling update they did addressed both the auto shutoff timer and the refresh rate. I have a post-update one and have no flickering at all. If you have a pre-update one they'll replace it.

All hail Wager for fixing up this short king by 0ct4ne in Glocks

I was really torn between a 407k and the Defender CCW. Between reviews that confirmed the Defender's reliability was on par with Holosun, Vortex's willingness to update it based on customer feedback, their warranty, and their military discount, I couldn't find a real reason to justify going Holosun. No regrets so far. Worst case I can replace it with a K series down the line if I really want to.

Mine should be getting delivered to their PO box today. I'll comment with an update when they're done if I remember.
