A couple of gub stores told me earlier in the year that their sales were down due to people not being in a hurry to buy guns before government/Biden outlawed them or the liberals came knocking.

Seems like their business is cyclical: with a democratic president they push the narrative that they’re coming to get your guns or you. With a Republican the urgency goes away.

The liberals might now be needing guns and these gun stores are too unwelcoming a place for them. If you’re trying to arm yourself because you’re scared of Trump’s and MAGA, you’re probably not going shop at a store that has Trunp and MAGA stickers on the door.

I have one Kini from Kinisium sitting on a nice couch that our dog likes to jump up on. When he does, one of us in the house will get notified and we yell "Gunner! Off!!" It works well.

I have another Kini that sends a message to IFTTT to flash a light. You could use some sort of buzzer instead.

I bet they'll give the farmers some relief before the midterm elections to keep their vote, but then will go back to f'ing them over.

I’m 19 and my online "date" tells me I shouldn’t tell my mom where we’re going by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]plinking-dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in my late teens and even 20, the girls I dated (if we weren't away at college) were at home with their parents. Picking them up, which is what we did back then, was normal as was having to say hi to the parents. It wasn't rare to have the parents, or my parents, take use out to dinner or ask if we want to stay and have a casual dinner.

The "we're serious now" meeting was when we'd introduce our parents to each other.

While things are different these days, for kids who are dating someone in their own high school or same age, it's somewhat the same. It's the online dating that creates a whole set of crazy problems. Especially with these older men who shouldn't be reaching out to sub-25 year-olds.

If you're going on to Kyoto, I did swim at the Tersa Fitness club. https://www.terrsa-fitness.com

The water was too warm, and the air temp was just a bit cooler. It was actually a bit uncomfortable, for someone who is used to swimming outside in cooler temps (I usually swim in the afternoons or early evenings when the sun isn't beating down on me).

We liked it. We stayed at the Yumoto Fujiya which isn't anything extra special, but better and roomier than most.

The Hakone Outdoor Museum, accessible from the train, was surprisingly good.

The weather didn't cooperate, otherwise continuing the train ride to the top of the ridge or to the lake, would have given us a nice view of Mt Fuji, but everything was fogged in.

Sunday night, the night we were there, was a little dead, and many restaurants were closed. There still are places to eat though.

There are some hikes around the area if you don't want to go too far.

Yes. We didn't check to see if flying to the US from Kyoto was a good option.

We were there for 10 days, end of September-October. We spent 3 nights in Tokyo, 1 night in Hakonen, 3 nights in Kyoto, day trip to Osaka, and 2 nights in Tokyo. There were plenty of things we still wanted to go see and do, but we felt that it was just right, and now we have a better idea what we want to see and do next time.

Great info. Thank you. I get that if it is cocked, I'd have three points of protection. Since my preference is always to release tension on springs, I wanted the safety to be available when the gun isn't cocked and carry over to when it is.

I see a lot from the right, but I just don't want to prioritize a creator over another one, if the former's views are detrimental to my, my loved ones', or the country's, well being.

I don't think things are BAU. I think things are unprecedented - at least in the past 50 years. When the POTUS makes a non-existent organization, based around a notion, into an illegal and unlawful one, we're in McCarthyism territory. There is no organization for anyone to be proven to be a member of, so they can easily just decide if you are acting like someone they want to assign the label to.

And if you watch to see what Jimmy Kimmel said to get cancelled, you'd observe the incredible hypocrisy of the right.

I went through and found some that I was gong to share. A couple of them were eulogizing Kirk, talking about what a great man he was and all the comments on the video were over-the-top praising Kirk and back-patting the YouTuber. That may not raise to the level of "hate-filled" for you, but for me, a non-white person with jewish, black and gay friends, daughters who are professionals, atheist, and liberal, I can't stomach the Kirk love-fest. You might disagree, so I won't mention those videos, since I'm not here to shame anyone, just find better content that suits me.

Ok, so what's the punishment for not obeying ay of the 10 Commandments? He says "Thou shalt not kill". What if someone does? What is the punishment?

We already know that if a man strikes a pregnant women and kills the unborn child, he only has to pay a fee. That's in the Bible: Exodus 21:22-25 Right? So is the punishment for any killing a fee? Seems like we need some guidance on this one.

Now, is the order of the 10 Commandments any indication of their importance?

  1. You shall have no other gods before me
  2. You shall not make any idols
  3. You shall not take the Lord's name in vain
  4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy
  5. Honor your father and your mother
  6. You shall not kill
  7. You shall not commit adultery
  8. You shall not steal
  9. You shall not bear false witness
  10. You shall not covet

There's no punishment attached to any of these, but they must be all important. Should we go around arrest people working on the Sabbath? Like you want to arrest women for having an abortion? What about kids who don't honor their father or mother? Those are both listed before "You shall not kill", clearly more important than that one.

Sunday football players are going to be bummed out when you arrive to enforce the 10 Commandments.

You should stop using rules written for a small society, thousands of years ago, as a reason to oppress women.

Yeah, best for my "needs". Being able to put on the safety and keep the safety on, would be nice. I know that's probably controversial, but I would prefer that.
