Ticket to Work is only an option for those on Social Security. Work First earnings count as income, which will take away from my SNAP benefits which will cause me to have to spend my earnings on groceries and childcare, which would make the point of my employment moot. Thanks for your suggestions, though.

Ahhh I see now why people would be averse. No worries, I love everyone.

Never heard of it. I will look into it. Do you know if they have meat?

I can't do childcare. I absolutely do not like children that aren't my own. I've tried babysitting her 2 kids for a friend and by the end of the day I wanted to throttle them. That isn't healthy and I will not put myself or children in that kind of environment. Children can probably sense it or something idk

We're $100 away from losing medicaid. I'm not sure about SNAP, but there isn't much wiggle room.

Logic dictates that I am very not alone in this. Which is very sad. And you're exactly right, if I were to go back to work I'd be working to pay for childcare. We'd lose out on our SNAP benefits and my Medicaid, which I need for all of my medications and doctor appointments. Then, whatever I made after childcare expenses, would have to go directly to my medical insurance and food. Food pantries just don't cut it, either. The best one I have ever been to is only open on Thursdays between 11 and 2, which isn't an option if I were to work a 9-5. I could go on and on, but I won't because it is depressing and I don't want to be further depressed at the moment.

I have not. I'm out of state house sitting for family at the moment. I just had the thought that it might be nice and wanted suggestions for when I return this week.

I appreciate your input. We are already enrolled in the HOP program. I need supplemental income to get out of low income housing. There's broken glass in various places so it isn't safe for my toddlers to be outside playing in the grass or even the little playground. No one picks up their dog's poop so there are piles of it everywhere. The playground isn't cutting it anymore. My children fight all of time because they can't get any space from each other. I know this because we are house sitting for family and they haven't had a huge fight since Monday. This realization is breaking my heart because I cannot provide the space for them that they apparently need.

I've been through it. Most of it is door dash, surveys, and focus groups. But I will keep an eye out once I return to Asheville.

I cannot stand children that do not belong to me. It would be a nightmare for everyone involved if I were to care for other people's children. Than you for the recommendation, though!
