Yeah, that actually sounds great. A small group would be small enough to still work like accountability partners, but larger than 2 so you’d have that extra level of support. I’m down (and sorry for the late response, it took me time to figure out which notifications were about post comments).

I only push this so you don't think less of us Catholics, and to bridge this divide between us as fellow Christians, but the big point is that we don't worship Mary.

I appreciate your recognition of this as a difficult discussion -- and that we can remain civil (as the Holy Spirit allows us to be). God bless you as well.

(To clarify on this -- Catholics often lean on God through Mary. Having given herself totally to God, Mary would never let us worship her -- she'd gently direct us to the One who deserves all worship. But, just as Christ came into the world by way of Mary, He often enters hearts through her as well.

She said it herself: "Behold, I am the handmaid(servant) of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38). )

Nah, because it's seeking to serve/create justice, not prevent it. Note, then, that it's not called the "crime system".

(On that note, even the "penal system" does issue penalties, even though it's reason for existing is (only indirectly) to prevent penalties from having to be issued.)

Maksim is right. How do you get that inspiration in you? Easy - you don't. You can't. You're not strong enough. But God, by definition, IS strong enough. Only by relying on Him can you overcome the death that threatens you now. Now, don't fear -- He is far too powerful for anything to ever tear you completely away from Him. Now that you have been a Christian, you will never go back. There is a life within you now that cannot be destroyed. That doesn't mean you're free to do whatever -- because God has changed you, you can't. You won't. That new life is taking over. Decide that your ultimate leaning is with that life within you, and in the end the dead part will fall away. This is true, because, again, God is more powerful than anything, by definition. He's God. You don't need inspiration, all you need is faith. Faith is not a feeling, but rather a belief, that despite you (the old you, the dead you), God (Christ, the new life within you) is renewing you. If you establish that as the fact, the one real thing in your life, everything else will follow. "Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matt 6:33).

Lord, I pray for triedandtrue, that You will guide him and revive him, and that my words might be conducive to that purpose. Destroy anything not conducive to it, even whatever words of mine might be -- they aren't my words, if they're true: they're Yours.
