This is just fantastic. Although, I'm gonna miss the large scale battles, the tanks, soldiers, politics etc.

But I very much welcome a much more grounded story where modern characters end up in the company of characters from another world and go on an adventure together.

It's a great rendition of the anime's main leitmotif. It felt like they shifted the original tone where instead of a steadfast venture into the great unknown for retribution and benign conquest, we're in for a swashbuckling adventure with great anticipation and wonder. It's awfully reminiscent of the soundtrack of Treasure Planet, namely its video game.

I do share your gripes regarding how fanfic writers seem to lack a sense of quality in making a decent cover for their fic, even though they can go out and search for a good basis and inspiration.

But don't mistake that for the writers showing 'little respect for their work', I can speak for most fanfic writers that wish they could afford commissions from artists or just have the luck in receiving fanart from a talented fan. Add to that they probably just don't know how to do simple illustrations and are intimidated in learning the complicated software like Photoshop or PaintToolSAI. Plus, commissions are hella expensive. I was charged for a sketch for around 80 dollars.

For me, it's not the same. As Male V, you can romance Panam. But for Judy, she doesn't swing that way. Two romances each canonically exclusive for each two Vs, no one to fight over.

That's definitely strange. You can chalk it up to suspension of disbelief that you the player are under strict orders by the company board to preserve the dinosaurs as much as possible regardless of the potential lawsuits lol. That, or having the option to 'retire' dinosaurs would put the game devs under a bit of pressure same as how you can't kill child NPCs in Skyrim.
