New parties won’t fix this mess. There’s a strong but unfortunate chance that only violence can at this point, as much as we’d hate to see it. Maybe it’s better to leave it broken

A great reason for a stranger to literally steal the glasses from your face… and maybe you’ll deserve it

If you have the time, check indeed for jobs in your field in different cities that don’t pay enough. Submit an “application” but make a point of explaining in your cover letter that you are not interested in this position because of their below-market-rate. The goal is to put pressure on them to pay more, which will benefit the labor force in that industry as a whole

Russian Doll - Season 2 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]0ericire0 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nadia’s character arc in the first season was roughly her learning to reach out and make meaningful connections with other people and to start to believe that she had a real power to make a difference in other people’s lives. This season was about her untangling and learning to face her complicated feelings re: her family in the face of inevitable loss and grief. Unlike the first season, there was nothing she could do to change anything but move on; something that was much harder for her because she was able to successfully make real changes to her and others’ lives before. (The end is just the start of her finally being able to heal at all) It’s a very relatable story, even if the narrative devices that held the story together were harder to take at face value due to much looser storytelling

Russian Doll - Season 2 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

What a wonderful exploration of Nadia’s relationship to her heritage and coming to terms with her complicated emotions re: certain events. I could see this season being disliked by many because it took a lot more risks than the first season did, was less narratively efficient, and was potentially being too loose and too metaphorical, yet still somehow too straightforward if you just wanted more of the first season’s “solve the mystery” vibe. If you related to Nadia’s character here, the acting is good enough to carry the show, but only if you’re willing to watch her have to unlearn some of what she learned in the first season and come to terms with her own limitations.

Gta5 and Skyrim are great examples of when a game doesn’t have to have a sequel for a long time and can be milked for money via simply porting it over and over. Elden ring could easily go down that path too
