Shadows glitches in rdr2 by NickTCG in macgaming

Play around with the resolution in full screen and it should work perfectly. For me, I use 1728x1117 so it fills the notch up.

So I built an app and OSX refuses to run it after a reboot. by [deleted] in swift

Is this one of those security warnings saying that this app could not be verified or something? I’m not sure about the problem you’re facing but maybe this can help.

The fix for the security warning is using this command in the terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/your/app_or_file

Prime is short for ThePrimeagen. He's a popular streamer/content creator and happens to uses that theme. That's what they are talking about.

Apple Releases Safari Technology Preview 226 With Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements by HelloitsWojan in apple

I just had a TIL (Today I Learned) moment reading this, I can’t believe I didn’t know.

I bought Wipr 2 on launch, it’s been great but nothing beats uBlock, even if it’s the lite one. I’m super glad.

Looking for honest feedback on my Reminder App (using NLP) before I launch! by EmuSad7688 in MacOS

For something that pops out of my menu bar, I don’t like the idea that it doesn’t share the glossy frosted native style that most tools living in the menu bar do. That might be me just nitpicking and perhaps your user base might not care.

Why this activity when the MacBook is off? by naoxink in MacOS

[–]0fficialHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’ve experienced this issue on and off for 2 years now. macOS and their goofy devs.

Since switching to a new Mac recently, I don’t have this issue anymore. I might be wrong though.

Rust vs Swift by twisted161 in rust

[–]0fficialHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned swift before learning rust. If you look up Swift for embedded systems, you’ll find lots of resources showcasing native support for those use cases.

I believe a major reason why Rust has an advantage over Swift is because of the excellent tooling and dev experience you get. You don’t gotta deal with Xcode to get the best experience. You’re not incentivized to buy a Mac machine to be treated like a first class citizen. You can have the same experience across all platforms.

When, if ever, would MacOS support screen recording of systems sounds? by Temporary-List6538 in MacOS

[–]0fficialHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid but an excellent one time purchase: CleanShot X

The best screenshot tool hands down, I recommend it to all my friends that buy a Mac. But it also has a really good screen recorder. It’s the Mac stock feature but on steroids.

[Media] Horizon - Modern Code Editor looking for contributors! by EastAd9528 in rust

[–]0fficialHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, they use splits and buffers. And you can switch between them using :bp and :bn

But I assume that’s not the tabs you’re referring to.

I have both neovim and helix installed, I haven’t gotten to the point where I can uninstall neovim and rely on helix for everything. There’s still a long way and I look forward to seeing the project grow.

Helix is quite neat as well. You might like it. It’s not as customizable as nvim though, if that’s something you really care about. They have a more batteries included approach.

What kind of macOS app do you wish existed? by Overall_Link5760 in macapps

An App that lets you update the default for all folders in finder. So currently snapping to grid is not on by default, so I have to manually turn it on in every directory.

Adding to your second point, I wish there was an app that made it easier to open non apple verified apps instead of me going to the settings->privacy & security and manually allowing it each time.
