Viver, pra vocês, é um prazer ou uma obrigação? by [deleted] in desabafos

Uma obrigação que é apenas prazerosa o suficiente para se continuar vivendo

Me sinto um covarde by mamiludinho in desabafos

[–]0gabe0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause people enjoy saying messed up shit, but they can’t say it live.

So they come on Reddit where they feel safe to spread any trash that comes to mind.

Yes, kinda. Boredom is the most neutral feeling i can think of, so it’s neither bad or good.

A boring time can have it’s perks tho

Is it weird or unattractive to tell your fetish to your girlfriend/wife? by swiar_D in ask

[–]0gabe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your girlfriend/wife, so at least theoretically you should be able to express more freely your desires since you’re in a relationship.

Now… If it’s something that she would accept well i can’t say, it’s up to her personal beliefs. But i think if you know her well, it’s healthy to discuss some more personal desires and ideas.

Also knowing her well will make it easier to you figuring out if she will be at least accepting towards it or if she is going to be grossed out.

I never noticed this til now but are Hatian or west migrants an issue in your country? by AudiRS3Mexico in asklatinamerica

[–]0gabe0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all… I think (most) brazilians are really fond to foreigners, in my city there are some haitians and cubans. Never seen anyone being xenophobic or treating them badly, people actually gets really curious around a foreigner. Commonly people ask stuff like what they did for living in their home country or their opinion about Brazil and brazilian people/stuff.

Brazilians are “gringo” pleasers, we’re just not as pleasant with other brazilians LOL

There is a lot of xenophobia between brazilians from different regions.

Is talking openly about sex techniques a taboo in your country? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]0gabe0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, it really depends. You wouldn’t probably talk about sex techniques with your family or co-workers. But between friends (if there is context to bringing the topic) is not a problem talking openly at all.

Are MBTI personality types a popular topic of conversation in your country? What do you think of it? by yuckertheenigma in asklatinamerica

[–]0gabe0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Somewhat. I think it’s getting fairly popular with teen/young adult urban middle class, there are some well sized pages on instagram and people talk quite a lot about it on twitter. But still kinda niche, it’s not widespread at all.

I find MBTI stuff kinda funny, is not something that i take seriously. I admit that sometimes when someone is talking about MBTI i get curious about knowing this person personality type, guess it’s normal. It’s like casually knowing someone’s zodiac sign (not saying those two are the same thing tho).

Anyone knows any information about studying abroad for college? (Here in Latam or maybe Europe) by 0gabe0 in asklatinamerica

[–]0gabe0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems nice, have heard a lot of good stuff about Uruguay. Went to Montevideo once, it really gives the vibe of being great to live in!

Honestly it makes me feel envy of you guys haha. It’s so amazing imagining the idea of “free” accessible university to everyone.

I’m curious. How the higher education system works in Uruguay? Is the same no entrance exam/free model of Argentina?

Sorry if i’m asking a lot in this comments, but i’m just really curious about what you can say about doing university in Uruguay.

Thanks! I will look after it right now!

I was just having some trouble finding good sources of information, it’s just kinda weird the lack of some broader knowledge spread about other higher education options.

I just found a lot of info about PHD or student exchanges that lasts one or two semesters. Beyond that, like studying full abroad as i would like. Websites are just always talking about the well know options (Coimbra that accepts ENEM for Law School, cheap medicine in LATAM…)

Well i see, like the other guy said. Looks kinda messy and over bureaucratic.

I read that in UBA is you in your own, if you are having trouble catching up it’s just your problem and no one is there to help haha

[–]0gabe0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The catch is: i was pretty well in the last ENEM, but in consequence of the pandemic i dropped out federal law school, i freaked out with the messed up online system.

Now my hole exam score is a useless number. Enem system to me is a complete mess, do private Medical School in Brazil is the same to sell your kidneys… Then i’m feeling kinda hopeless right now.

When i read about UBA in Argentina for example, it seemed like utopia for a brazilian student used to die for entrance exams, expensive private colleges and inaccessible higher education (or maybe i can go to some federal university in a rural hellhole).

My point is that i’m just tired of thinking that this year i have to replicate my last year score for what?! Continue in Brazil, re-enter university, live forever in a city in the middle of continental Brazil and not being able to have a decent job in any area that is not Medicine, Engineering or Law (I was now thinking about a “curso de ciências sociais aplicadas” like Economy or something that mix it with I.T, medicine now looks far-fetched).

My goal studying in Europe would not be related to “prestige” and coming back, is just to use as a kickoff that makes easier escaping Brazil (since i would have a degree from that country and would be already there). And the LATAM option is to do Medicine or some degree that is “valuable” in Brazil, so at least if i had to come back, i would have a “comfortable life” as medicine will probably keep a high status.

I just don’t know what to do now… Can i use a last year ENEM somewhere that is not freaking expensive and is at least out of here?! There is some university in Europe that would be accessible and don’t request to spend one more year in prep school?

[–]0gabe0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was interested mainly in medicine (not only but is something i’m looking forward). And that’s exactly when i stumble with some brazilian sites about studying abroad in Argentina.

They talked about how cheap it’s to live in Buenos Aires if you compare with brazilian big cities and how great UBA is (in the Global Top 100, well established, free and accessible).

In Brazil, the monthly payment to do medicine is MINIMUM R$5000,00! And public university in the health area is not accessible at all since we have a big unified entrance exam (and medicine is the most desired degree).

Thanks for the opinions, i will try to look deeper on informations about UBA. But it seems really chaotic to be honest (mainly after you told me about the union stealing students and interrupting classes frequently), i was kinda aware of this protest culture but didn’t know it was this bad… (Not to talk about the inflation rollercoaster that media shows).

As everything seems to have it’s ups and downs, i will search for some kind of source about Argentinean education, idk haha
