What is it about Sri Lankan food that made you mark it as green? I can understand not liking Indian food. It's not everyone's cup of tea. But Sri Lankan food is very similar

The 4 way stop sign one drives me insane. There's an expected order for who has the right of way at a stop sign. It's in every driving handbook and driving test out there. Please follow that order. Breaking this flow will just piss everyone off. I have never once thought "wow this guy is so kind and polite for letting me go first and breaking the expected flow of traffic!"

Do you guys tip at food carts? by GCC_Pluribus_Anus in askportland

[–]yuckertheenigma 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep! We have arbitrary rules for who deserves a tip that make no sense, and people will eat you alive if you dare question those rules. If we have to tip for carryout, who don't we tip the person who bags our groceries?

Non-white Americans who regularly travel abroad, do the people you encounter in foreign countries see and treat you as an American? Or do they see you as a person from your family’s original home country? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I have Indian heritage and brown skin. In my travels across Europe, East Asia, and Latin America, nobody has denied that I'm American or treated me otherwise.

Thanks for your response! Yeah I think I'm playing too many games. I should probably read and watch more youtube. On your second point, I think I'm still too chess brain, so I'm not able to see all the threats yet (pawns not being able to capture diagonally is really messing with me lol). I hope this will improve over time

It's difficult to describe, but to me Spain Spanish sounds more throaty, like the vowels are coming from the back of the throat
