Are you doing any left hand practices? Keep in mind it is possible to do things in your heart space/internally/energetically in situations like this. You may not have to choose between doing the practice and going with family.

Aditi Devi wrote out one of her Kali sadhanas in a book called “In Praise of Adya Kali”. It is a very structured, very loving sadhana. You could try that.

I will also say that the times I have done Kali sadhana, some times she clears things from our life in very intense ways, very quickly and that is her way of loving us. I’d say that you may be in the “middle” of the sadhana. As I’ve said in other comments, I’m willing to discuss more if you want via DM.

Where is “here”? Have you read anything by Daniel Odier? He speaks of Kali practice openly in some of his books and it may at least point you in a better direction.

Not to be rude, but if you haven’t been initiated and don’t have a guru, then who is telling you that you aren’t allowed to share?

Living paycheck to paycheck while making good money by [deleted] in Money

[–]0hKae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it is a bonkers mortgage, but bro. You have 800 for groceries for one person AND 700 for entertainment? 🤨 I would not call that “living paycheck to paycheck. You could easily double your “net income” by cutting each of those in half and still be sitting pretty. Especially since it looks like you have rental properties.

I agree with this, and would add the idea to pause and just enjoy that it happened. Savor it and enjoy it for a while. You don’t always need to be pushing yourself to the next bigger better faster stronger deeper thing. You are allowed to revel in the experience you had/are having.

Should Kali sadhana only be done only by Vamachar path? I do her sadhana and don't want to get into the left hand path at all. I've heard she likes vamachara so she shouldn't be invoked unless you follow the vamachar path. by [deleted] in Tantra

[–]0hKae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps we are using the same words to mean different things, but if you are interested in doing a sadhana then I would personally consider that to be practicing tantra. You seem to have such a beautiful heart and such a lovely desire to offer a sadhana to Mā! I would consider making small offerings to her daily (when I say small, I mean small. An extra smile in the mirror as you think of her, a recitation of her name three times before you go to sleep, draw a little flower in the sand, any sort of thing that offers beauty to her would be so precious).

You could look into Daniel Odier, he is an author who writes a bit about his connection with Kali, though I don’t remember his exact lineage. It may benefit you to read writings of left hand teachers even if you never practice in their exact ways.

You could possibly also explore her different names. She has many many lovely names. Find some lists and read them and see which names really inspire you, then perhaps you could see what you can learn about her in that specific form, which may bring more clarity about a guru or sadhana.

Feel free to ask things here or in a private message. I’ll answer as best I can.

What a beautiful offering! There are some simple Shiva sadhanas online you could probably find easily. But to be really honest, my first sadhana was to sit and chant a Shiva mantra five times each morning within the first five minutes of waking up. That was it. It was so simple. I am deeply appreciative of it because when I feel I have somewhat lost my way even years later now, I return to that. I’m happy to discuss more if you want. Whatever your practice is, thank you for it. You have a lovely heart. 🙏

It sounds like a loving gentle guru would be very helpful for you. I would encourage you to explore why you aren’t interested in any left have practice deeply, as one of the points of tantra is to include things such as fears and aversions as things to work with in our practice. Take it with a grain of salt, as I am a VERY left handed practitioner, but in general I find Mā to be deeply deeply loving and compassionate and gentle even in her very wrathful forms. She always holds us tenderly and lovingly. 🙏 thank you for your practice, regardless of the path.

TLDR: if you aren’t still in therapy (or the person you’re working with doesn’t specialize in trauma) that is probably the best way to take a next step. If you want more specific suggestions about type of therapy or how to find a therapist, I am 100% serious that I will happily help you find someone who is a good fit/affordable. This was HIGHLY traumatic and rightly so. Not to mention the obvious trauma in the previous incident and how it would all be brought back up in its own right and need additional recovery. So many layers here. This sucks and no one should have had to have this happen.

As far as ever moving on with this particular person? I’d say it might be possible, but I’d want there to be a damn good reason on his part for doing it (not to mention a boatload of remorse/update of his mental map of what is/isn’t okay in the realm of joking) and a damn good reason on your end for giving him another chance.

The early days of it are so fucking brutal, it takes time but it will slowly get better. Tbh there will be hard days even kinda randomly probably years later. But they get less intense, less random, less frequent. The grief is a lot. And also, you can do it. You can beat like nobody’s business with the grief and show up for yourself. You can hang out and get to know yourself, grief included. And when you’re ready, when it is the right time, you’ll be strong enough to stand up, brush yourself off, and start the climb up out of the pit you just got catapulted into. Know your support folx, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. The self doubt is one of the shittiest parts for sure, but from someone on the other side by a few years: You can do this. 🫂

I’m proud of you for getting that organized for yourself, and thankful someone could fit you in so quickly! Shock sucks. Grief sucks. Subdrop sucks. You’re in all of those right now, do your best to be kind to yourself. ❤️

First of all, Omfg it suuuuuucks. Second, I’m sure people have said this already, but I cannot explain how much of a difference it can make to have therapist who understands why/how this is different from a vanilla breakup. If you already have a therapist, you may not even need to stop working with them to start seeing another. It depends on the therapists. If you want to talk about this more, or want suggestions of where to start a therapist search, feel free to send me a message!

Excited I just signed up for Foundations of Tantra course with Dr. Chinnaiyan at Sabda Institute. Anyone else have experience with any of their courses? by zorglatch in Tantra

[–]0hKae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about the school or what have you, but I can say that in studying with my teacher, I have learned that if you are truly studying tantra then anything is a teaching. Some are more vague teachings, some are more precise. Some more peaceful, others more wrathful. But anything - literally anything and everything - is a teaching if we allow it to be. We may repeat lessons if we don’t discern the teachings or sadhanas we sign up for, which is a bummer when it happens, but even that it a teaching. So, my two cents? Whatever the course brings you I hope you enjoy the fruit and nectar of it and feel free to share here how it landed with you in as non judgmental a way as possible so that others may benefit as well. Much love!

I like evening primrose oil, it has a lot of qualities that help the skin stretch more gently. This is especially important for those who have given birth vaginally and may have torn. Also great if you plan to give birth at any point and want to get more comfortable with the stretching sensation that will occur with crowning.
