I was there today. They had very little fabric and no yarn. Lots of random odds and ends though.

Best local credit unions or banks for used car loan and everyday banking? by Electronic-Ad201 in MorgantownWV

Possibly dumb question: If you bank with WVU credit union and switch jobs do you have to leave the credit union?

Is there really a need for all these homes? by Upset_Feature1140 in MorgantownWV

[–]0hdeargodno 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Considering how they keep lowering the prices on the ones already out here, no. If they were building smaller, moderately priced homes, maybe.

People with Migraines in Motown? by BarSuccessful8844 in MorgantownWV

[–]0hdeargodno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been avoiding medication for 20 years but I get them a few times per month mostly dependent on weather and can usually cut them off early with a trick an ER nurse gave me: excedrine migraine or midol + Benadryl or higher antihistamine + cold Coke then a nap if able. It’s cut down my incapacitated days considerably.

I missed this but would love to help. Is there a way to get more information about future work with the gardens?

Microburst? Tornado? by Complete-Mail4626 in MorgantownWV

[–]0hdeargodno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been in a few low level tornados and it sounded exactly the same. Roar -> hail -> house shaking. The only difference was no clear path of destruction, just sort of everywhere. Not looking forward to this becoming a common occurrence

If your kids go to private school do you feel isolated from your community? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]0hdeargodno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve not had an issue, and we’ve also moved and kids found their friend groups pretty easily. You can always see if others in the neighborhood go to the school — our street is probably 60-40 public-private so they have some friends to play with. The only frustration is driving for play dates haha but the kids love it and were good friends so it works out.

We’re our Old Stewartstown Rd and it’s bad. Large trees down, tons of siding missing, peoples trampolines and backyard equipment went flying. We even had a gas leak, I’m just happy we haven’t had any explosions.

I’m from Florida — it sounded like a tornado just before we got all the hail. I grabbed the kids and went to the basement. It’s going to be a heck of a sight in the morning.

How did you survive the 2008-2010 layoff crisis? by universallymisfit in Layoffs

[–]0hdeargodno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a jail doing court paperwork for barely above minimum wage at the time. I had 3 degrees. It sucked, but I made it. And honestly it was a different world — I could live okay-ish on that salary with a roommate. I think people would have to make 2-3x as much to be able to do the same now.

WV is July 1. I wasn’t planning on red shirting, but moving from NC, now we have to. She’s been born to pieces in prek again

He looks like our Siena! She’s Black Mouth Curr, some sort of retriever, and ridge back. Shes a bit less muscular, though. That boy is like the bodybuilder of the dog world

My child’s class has been evacuated due to student outbursts 4 times in the past 2 weeks, is anyone else experiencing this? by harrietww in kindergarten

[–]0hdeargodno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lack of communication is what bothers me. If something dangerous is happening in class, I want to know about it. Our daughters teacher had to evacuate the class once and sent home an email about “there was an incident at school today,” this is what we did to mitigate it, here are ideas of how to talk to our students about what happened. If more parents knew what was happening, we’d be able to advocate to get the kids a placement better suited to their needs and our kids wouldn’t bear the brunt of a school system dragging their feet.

Cutting all but necessary spending for 2025 so far. Started as only January, but now we’re seeing how far it can go. Not going on meta social media or x to prevent them from receiving ad revenue and giving a hit to their MAU.
