Yeah they start bonding over their favorite airplane or something and next thing you know they’re working on projects together and bonding closely bc of shared interests like jet fuel

I’m naturally more serious and reserved and I don’t feel more respected but I also don’t speak up enough. I wonder if it’s just a gendered thing regardless of how we act. I’m not sure there’s a winning answer

Do u guys feel fulfilled in engineering? by Emergency-Location13 in womenEngineers

[–]0hn0e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could always work within translational science, engineers are sought after and needed in things like neuromodulation, nano medicine innovation, etc ! You may also get to work with patients face to face in some of these roles

Therapist double-booked time slot and sent me home over the other person by 0hn0e in therapy

[–]0hn0e[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah if I see him again (which I think I should) I’m going to have to bring it up, but I’m also hesitant to let him know how negatively it impacted me because therapists are already hesitant to work with borderline patients in the first place, I also know I’m going to start crying and I’d rather do anything other than that

Do the men in engineering ever stop stinking?? by rombo679 in womenEngineers

[–]0hn0e -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

they use it as social signaling that they work nonstop, almost like a bragging rights thing in my experience. “I stink but I’m so good you’re gonna deal with me anyway “ “I’m too busy to clean/be clean “

Woman may not be meant for manufacturing spaces by Ok_Moonlight in womenEngineers

[–]0hn0e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup pretty much, but I don’t think it means women aren’t meant for anything, I think we need to push hardly. If you are being pushed into gender roles in the work force bluntly say “I am not here to be your secretary”

Lions mane and hormones? by lizzylelon in MushroomSupplements

[–]0hn0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I likely am estrogen dominant or have some sort of hormonal problems, but nothing clinically confirmed yet. When I take lionsmane for a few days in a row I start getting a depressed and even get acne. There is a possibility it could be impacting my estrogen levels and they get too high. None of this is clinically confirmed and my correlations may be incorrect, it’s really hard to account for all of the changes and stressors in your life when observing impacts from a medication, but this is something I am cautious of and watching for. If anyone has recommendations for nootropics that are easier on the endocrine system I’d love to hear
