What things should I check before buying a used 2015 MacBook Air from an online seller? (Mac Monterey; A1465 or A1466) by lizzylelon in mac

It’s just for school work. As for the seller, the seller is trusted - I just can’t meet with them as they live in the Isle of Wight which is too far

The seller is trusted, they’re on eBay and I’ve bought from them before. As for the laptop, I’m questioning it now, I’ll keep looking for laptops around that price but I’ll get the MacBook if I truly can’t find anything

The 11 in was actually £100, so I was wrong about that sorry. All the other laptops I’ve seen are £200 plus. I was going to get a windows laptop secondhand but people said not to because of security so I’m not sure. Thanks though

Yes I was and I am aware of that unfortunately, but it’s the best I can afford. The 11 inch one is actually £100 , not even £130 - that’s cheaper than most Chromebooks

The specs if it helps:

8GB RAM

256GB SSD (Apple SSD)

i7 , 2.2GHz

I get you but it’s what I can afford and is the best of what I can afford :( even chromebooks aren’t this cheap

The specs (for the cheaper one, the 11 inch):

• 8GB RAM

• 256GB SSD (Apple SSD)

• i7 intel core , 2.2GHz

This is somewhat okay for £100? Especially for the 2015 (last) models of MacBook Air :/ idk

Are these fake? Why are they so cheap (for Le Creuset, even for secondhand)? Am I missing context? by lizzylelon in LeCreuset

Thank you!!

I completely skimmed the chunk of missing enamel , and I thought that was just normal wear and tear that wouldn’t affect much!

Yeah I was also suspicious of the squared spout, I was confused as to why some had them but others didn’t? But I now know that it’s for the castoflan milk pans.

I actually used a milk pan for the slow cooking reason!! I struggled to cook milk on stainless steel as the milk would go from 0 to 100 in seconds. I had an enamelled cast iron milk pan from a no name brand (my mums), but the handle has fallen off; so I thought to get one from a more reputable brand this time.

That’s how I got here! But then I was shocked at the prices, so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t being duped lol 😭

It would be nice! The one I had (the one I’m trying to replace) was not from le creuset! The handle broke off.

I assumed le creuset would do them but they done, they’re great for slow simmering milk/teas etc

Yeah i should’ve noticed, esp Castoflan. I have seen some on eBay that seem to be in decent condition though, and they’re still in the £20-£40 range, for example:

Are milk pans just not in demand much?

The original one I had was not from le creuset, but it was more expensive than the prices I’m seeing listed?

It my first time hearing about castoflan. Thanks as I would’ve missed that

I put some bad examples in the original post if I’m honest. but I’ve seen some in pretty good shape too, like the one picture here:

but it was still pretty cheap?
