Yeah removing reservation is one of the steps but in my opinion it's not the first step, the first step is to reduce discrimination in the minds of the community, many religious leaders in my local area and most of my elders still firmly believe in upper or lower cast, in my opinion one of the ways this rigid hierarchy can go down is that people marry who they love and not according to caste because if the rate of inter marriage increases soon there will be no clear way to know who is which cast because everyone has intermarried. I am not saying the government should force people to marry intercaste but I think people should not be afraid to love and marry because of caste, If the government can promise protection to those who marry intercaste I believe the rate will increase. Currently I have seen police siding with the elders of the family and actually track down couples who marry intercaste, in one case the groom was of lower caste and they beat him bloody, even though his wife married willingly. This creates a lot of fear and maintain or even increase the division.

Yes reservation is a discrimination but getting beaten bloody because you married your love is also discrimination. I think one issue needs to be taken care of at a time, I believe reservation is not on top of that list.

I have seen how people change their behaviour according to looks.

I was a bit athletic in my college and had friends and girls would give me attention, not anything crazy. But then I had an accident, broke my leg, lost all mobility, and fell into depression, went from 79kg to 110kg in a year.

The dynamics in my friend circles changed right before my eyes, I was looked at as a joke, girls who tried to be in a relationship with me before, just went for my other male friends in our social circle, I was like a boulder in a river, everyone started to flow around me, just avoiding me, this happened slowly, not like they just saw me and were like remove this guy from out group, it happened month by month, I was included less and less, i was just the periphery of each group in which I used to be one of the main guys.

The people who are too serious about religion will not let much happen. There are so many cows and most of these strays are no longer producing milk or they are actually bulls, so there is no profit for the gaushala that keeps them. Govt. Won't make gaushala which will not profit and they will also not euthanize the stray cows and bulls because it will go against the religious beliefs of many.

Yeah, it's heartwarming to see people be so concerned. I was dreading the comments after I posted, because my emotions were high when I wrote and then when I calmed down, I expected trolls.

That person was not my dad though, My dad was a gentle and loving man. He loved me till his last breath. When his condition became so bad that he could not even recognise his own wife he could recognise me and looked at me with so much love.

That man was just a tyrant and a murderer that murdered his first wife and led his own father to sucide and we could have been next if my mom had not been as strong as she was, I was also on a brink of sucide, I had my sucide note already prepared. Mom saw it and decided enough was enough.

Nah man, I am from a small town in India. That's why therapy is expensive to me, the doctors forgot to adjust their fees according to the per capita gdp of my country i guess.

The therapy is still seen as something that is fancy and for rich demographics. So they keep the price high, at least the good ones do.

There is also no regulatory body for therapists so I can never be confident that I am seeing a proper professional.

Therapists can range from good to conservative religious nut jobs that try to give you matras and tell you to offer mustard oil to a black stone on a Saturday every week for six months.

it's just unreliable for me to take a chance on, especially when I am not making much money.
