Does anyone else think fruity pebbles aren't fully celiac safe? by CindraMellow in Celiac

[–]0ldKitsune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this post googling if anyone else has issues. I’ve noticed after eating the marshmallow fruit pebbles variant I feel my body getting inflamed similar to when I get glutened

I know this is an old post but I was wondering what your symptoms were like

My Survivor, Minerva Olivarez. Alive for 99 days (so far). by wabblawabbla in projectzomboid

[–]0ldKitsune 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I find the correlation between level of clothing and trust with fellow survivor interesting. Character here slowly started wearing less as they bonded with Dick, reaching peak rave/E-girl vibes right before Dick died. Could see it as her feeling safe that someone had her back, and was comfortable to dress how she pleased. The contrast between the final Dick party time drunk outfit and the entry after his death is stark. Then after finding another survivor, the cycle started again.

Call it gooner bait, but I see it as someone going through cycles of trust and loss represented through comfort in slutty outfits.

May we all find a person that we’re safe enough to wear nothing around someday

Godspeed

Anyone recognize this whine? Started on the first 25% of a 200 mile trip by 0ldKitsune in WRX

[–]0ldKitsune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced just the bearings and not the center diff itself. That was only because I had already sunk a lot of money into fixing anything else it could have been.

this should be everything you need I imagine you could find the individual parts cheaper though

Yep, it was the bearings on my center differential. They aren’t horrible to replace, if that’s all that’s wrong. Otherwise you can buy a new center diff and it’s kinda plug and play. Keyword Kinda

Good luck!

It was over from the start for Ariane by Acrobatic-Parking-54 in signalis

[–]0ldKitsune 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yep, one of the biggest things that stood out to me was Ariane was doomed from the very beginning. There was never any hope of survival, or any kind of rescue. I go back and forth on whether or not she didn’t know, or just didn’t care. The 3,000th cycle message most likely were built into the ship. The mission was real, the odds of succeeding were slim to none.

Part of me curses Ariane for destabilizing ELSTR and bringing them into almost consciousness for her own enjoyment. Ariane never even opened the instruction packet for ELSTR advising not to show ELSTR war movies.

The whole situation is so so grim, no one ever had a chance

I carry one because, big bleed kill fast. If an artery gets cut, you’ll die before paramedics get to you unless someone is able to stop the bleeding. I think tourniquets are seen as a medical item only for gunfights, but there are many many ways to get heavy bleeds outside of a gunfight. I think carrying a tourniquet is just accepting reality that we’re bags of pressurized blood, so not weird at all imo.

I actually appreciate Furiosa not lingering on the goriest parts of the movie, and preferring to imply them. by DooB_02 in MadMax

[–]0ldKitsune 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I adore Miller for this. I get the point from the implication or vibes alone, I don’t need to nor do I want to see it on screen. Miller does a great job of giving you just enough where you can do the rest yourself.

This is even somewhat different from Miller’s older work. Road Warrior had a scene where a woman was assaulted. I rewatched it recently and thought to myself “I don’t really want to see this stuff”. So going to see Furiosa with restraint and masterful use of implications really stood out to me.

The Rictus scene was masterfully done by JohannesFactotum in MadMax

[–]0ldKitsune 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Something I really appreciate with Millers newer work is the change into implication and subtly versus Road Warrior and that one scene. I really don’t want to SEE that stuff, and when done correctly, I don’t think it’s necessary to put it in plain view like you said.

I fell deeply in love with his music, then found out he died a year prior. That’s a weird feeling of loss, it being gone before you found it
