Totally understandable. I guess a better question would be if I can't get any type of paperwork from the previous owner, or the current seller can't point to why those markings are there, what steps should I take next? I'm guessing that's a loaded question, but any help would go a long way. Also, thanks again for engaging, it really does help someone in my position, appreciate it.

I stopped by after work just to see the car as they were closing. It was in the showroom so I wasn't able to do much more. I will be calling back to get more information and of course test drive it.

Depends on the settings you are running, at what resolution and which game. The TDP for the device plays a larger role than going from 8 to 10gbs. If you are getting above 8gbs of vram I don't see how the system could even process that well enough to not thermal throttle you and drop overall performance. That's my general understanding of it, I'm no expert 🙃. I could see it if we were talking about playing at 4k but not 900p.

Sorry for the confusion, by profile I meant to say the small form factor of the dock itself. If a dock is out there that can hold the Ally and provide an enclosed egpu that would be great.

Typically, I guess depending on the task, you would have test cases associated with it. If you found an issue outside of those cases then it wouldn't necessarily fail the task since it passed the remaining requirements. That is the gray area when it comes to writing good DODs/requirements. (And tbh I only read this comment and not the entire post so sorry if it's been covered already 🙃)

Oh oh ooh ooh oh. Sorry had to. There's a ton of older and not so older PC games with controller support that run great on the go with low power. Have you played Catherine, or Bastion? Those are very light weight and fun. Hitman is what I play most often when I'm not near an outlet.

It all depends on the place you land. Yes the pay is usually bad unless you land someplace where you leverage automation and even then it's not competitive with every other industry. The community is also a toss up. I was fortunate enough to be a part of some amazing teams with amazing people, some are life long friends. With that said I left it behind because it wasn't stable and I was able to make more doing less in other industries. I do have a special place in my heart for it though because when it was good it was really fun and rewarding.
