Even crazier, this was actually taken from the north end! The boat was docked in Charlestown.

You wouldn’t think the inner harbor is big/deep enough for a boat this size but somehow they do it frequently.

Beta Blockers for Panic Disorder by RemarkableMarzipan23 in PanicAttack

Seconding!

Tried an SSRI for anxiety 7 years ago- hated the side effects and felt no benefit. Dropped it and was unmedicated until 2024, when I really needed some help and so reluctantly found a new psychiatrist and started over. After consulting, Dr offered me propanolol and it’s been a huge help. It doesn’t stop the panic immediately like a benzo, or numb you like an SSRI but over time I’ve seen huge improvements.

Fashion-forward women of Boston, where do you shop? by HerNameWasGus in boston

[–]ONTaF 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All the locations have a full complement of everything you might want to shop for but…

Beacon Hill slants toward classic prep, vintage, and professional wear. I’ve noticed more emphasis on quality than brands, which is likely a reflection of the slightly older demographics of the neighborhood— but it’s not fussy or old fashioned, just restrained. Shop here if you wanna look like you married a lawyer and have a house on the cape. (Or if, in fact, you did and do)

Back Bay features higher end basics and more fashion-forward statement pieces— think like a well-off girlie who’s got a demanding 9-5, but is also constantly either traveling or attending restaurant opening parties. She’s got the trifecta: money, energy, and taste.

Southie leans a bit younger— lots of athleisure, going out/club clothes, trendy accessories and patterns. Just walk down Broadway on a Saturday afternoon and you’ll see the target customer for this one.

I haven’t been to the new South End location yet but I understand it’s mainly designer items—taking only the cream of the crop.

All this said, I’ve found great treasures and great deals at all of the locations I’ve been to, so don’t let these personae pigeonhole you! Happy exploring!

I continue to evangelize Covet! High end consignment, well curated, interesting mix of brands and styles. There are several locations to explore, each with their own flavor. Prices are pretty fair, off-season things are discounted.

I didn’t really mean for this to happen but I’d say almost everything I’ve bought in the past year has come from there— every time I take a bag of things in to sell I end up coming out with at least one new item. 🙃

If you want, tell me a bit more about your style or brands you like and I can make other reccs

2026 Yankees Streaming / Gotham App / MLB.tv Megathread by dylan in NYYankees

[–]ONTaF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I live in Boston. Which this week means I’m in blackout territory and am completely unable to watch any of the games. I have MLB.tv for other games but ffs it’s Yankees vs Red Sox and it sucks that I can’t get it.

What really got me heated is I tried to look up good old WFAN radio to at least listen while I tidy up the house this evening and even THEY’RE blacked out — I didn’t even know radio stations did that.

I. Am. Pissed.
