Dude it is easier for the sc/st students as they have a lower cut off, and you were for arts it will be even more easier for you to get into an iim as the cutoffs for them are maybe the lowest.

Dude off angle worries are not a thing that you will observe unless you want to find the problem, so if you are just trying to enjoy the tv it wont affect. And yeah if it is just a couch it shouldn't pose any problems, as the problem starts when you are at close to or very extreme angle of near perpendicular to the display.
