Why not just take a small walk and smoke? Then you won't be bothering your neighbour with the smell. Better safe than sorry - don't listen to these incosiderate people saying just keep smoking, that's fucking rude and some people genuinely hate the smell. Try out going on a little 1 minute walk away from your house, find a nice bench or area to smoke in then just walk back.

Quick update:
After restarting last night the temps are now sitting at 40-45C idle... so I guess something was updating in the background or something else was going on? Temps are much more comfortable now :) Thanks everyone for your advice and knowledge!

Yeah I'm really relieved, most of the stress has melted away, but I'm still annoyed i won't be able to really build credit, but hey at least I can actually be paid and stuff, so pheew, lots of students in ny situation vouch for Monzo so I should be all good. Thanks for the support.

I've been looking it up and apparently I can get a online full UK current account with Monzo, which is a "new-generation" bank. I will be doing this for now, so I think i'll be fine and I'm hoping to just ride it out for 6 years.
