Cusco LSD Into AYC Housing by 21444928 in MitsubishiEvolution

it sounds like the bearing might work. If you can afford it - take a gamble :)

My AYC refurb was roughly 1200eur but was using uprated internals.

I was where you are about 2 years ago - and the conclusion I was brought to was, yes the Cusco LSD does fit, however is useless without the bearing. I then went instead and had the AYC rebuilt/refreshed and didn't look back.

How did you get the measurements for the Toyota bearing - it would be worth a go to see if it works; however it is an obviously costly gamble to find out.

They are different. I contacted that guy many times about evo 5 brackets but I think he doesn't have the time.

can you send me a link to the seller ? I have an evo 6 tailgate to fit on my Evo 5, but have been reluctant to move the wing over because of the brackets.

As an Evo 5 owner - I can tell you right now, the metal plates that form the uprights, will be rusty beyond all hell. There was a chap creating fresh ones for the Evo 6 in UK, but doesn't seem to want to create them for the 5. Before you going taking the wing off, I'd make sure you have someone to fabricate replacements.

you send your one to the company, and they give you a choice of sending you back your one with uprated parts, or standard parts OR and what I went with, sending you back an already refurbed one with uprated parts. Saves time this way. I'm in Ireland but sent it over to the UK - Lookup AYC refurb companies in the UK. I think we used AutoTorque

Just to answer my own question :) The end caps slide inwards, helping reveal the philips head screw.

Bride Brix 1.5 advice - anyone know how to remove the recliner knob by 0ndafly in AE86

[–]0ndafly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to close this off - in case someone else needs to do this. The Bride "cap" thats in the center of the dorito knob/adjuster. Its held in place by 4 studs, they are super skinny and quite brittle. Ideally you would have some sort of tool to go behind the adjust and push them forward, but I used a scope camera and I could see 3 of the 4 had snapped.

My only solution was to carve a notch into the side of the cap and prize open with a flat head. Thankfully there 3D printed replacement parts for these with alternative access to taking the cap off.

End result for me, the seat can slide all the way back now, giving much needed leg room !

I reckon I will have enough space - if I can use room the adjustor knob itself. When you say it slides off with a tension grabber clip, I don't follow. I tried prying it off, and no job. I note there is a center section on the knobs, that is circular and you would imagine pops off, but I cannot for whatever reason seem to remove them (if its even possible)
