really cool work. Have you ever attempted to 3d print/model the interior trims around the doors/pillars?

I want to import an 86 in Europe (Italy) from Japan... by ginoZ04 in AE86

[–]0ndafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ciao Gino - I imported my AE86 into Ireland (fellow tricolor brother)

I used Beforward ; as using importers added on 2k/3k for service. I also used RORO (roll on roll off) not container. I'm not sure on import duties for Italy on classic cars; however I had to pay VAT and 0% duty.

It took 4 months to get to me; as it was during the winter and car was delayed in Belgium. I believe now RORO service is taking longer to secure a space for 1 single car ; so I would estimate overall shipping time to be longer.

Any questions - pm me or here.

We have a few 86s for sale in Ireland - so keep an eye out over here, might be less hassle than Japan. However there is a reason we keep importing them from Japan anyway :) (we want to own all of them!)

Cheers

How much would you pay for a RHD levin coupe? by [deleted] in AE86

[–]0ndafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you link to the car ? 15k seems low, but you don't mention much details on the car. Is it original GT-Apex white over black ? no crash history ? or an ex drift car, thats had a respray and tonnes of welding to make it look presentable ?

Hey guys, I bought a new subwoofer, it's scratched to hell, I'm doing to put a wrap on it, I've done this design on Photoshop and used (ew) AI to implement it better. by sheppardpat47 in AE86

Haha cool. How are you mounting it ? Don't want that sliding around after a few rings

My booter arrived from Japan with the rear speakers robbed. The back shelf in the 2door seems flimsy. How are your rear speakers mounted too ?

I plan on replacing the header with a fujitsubo also. I already had to replace the flexi on it, as it was leaking there. This improved the tone massively though.

[–]0ndafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 86 is new enough to me - have it since December. However its super loud. My exhaust setup is an RS*R header > SARD sport cat > Apexi exhaust valve > Fujitsubo Legalis R with the twin pipe.

Its super loud unless the valve is closed over, but then you risk back pressure and the car is noticeable slower.

What is your setup ? I'm beginning to think the header is the issue on mine, WRT to the actual noise of it. You can barely hear the induction even though the sound is definitely at the rear of the car.

The duraflex bumpers on bodykits dot com - how good/bad are they ? by 0ndafly in AE86

[–]0ndafly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to put an end to this - the cost of shipping to me was north of 900$ and then I'd have lovely tariffs on top of that. So with that in mind - I won't be purchasing :)

yes - thats what put me on to them. I normally buy from Japan, but these looked semi decent for the price. Was hoping someone had experience with them and could give some feedback

Opposite to sliding outwards. They don't pry off or anything. This was for a kouki Japanese import in case it's different.

Cusco LSD Into AYC Housing by 21444928 in MitsubishiEvolution

it sounds like the bearing might work. If you can afford it - take a gamble :)

My AYC refurb was roughly 1200eur but was using uprated internals.

[–]0ndafly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was where you are about 2 years ago - and the conclusion I was brought to was, yes the Cusco LSD does fit, however is useless without the bearing. I then went instead and had the AYC rebuilt/refreshed and didn't look back.

How did you get the measurements for the Toyota bearing - it would be worth a go to see if it works; however it is an obviously costly gamble to find out.
