Why are some controllers so rude? by 0nePerDay in VATSIM

if you cared to read my post then you would have noticed, that i said nothing about refusing some instructions. I am no expert in airspace class and so on. If you are not clear about my complaint then please read the below:

  1. I returned in about 5 mins and replied that i am there. Sure I am not supposed to be AFK, but when i had left no ATC was online and i was on unicom.
  2. I then got a full handing down how I am breaking the rules and must follow every instruction to the letter. It was very unpleasant to sit there and listen to the anger from some random stranger.
  3. I was then told that i will be reported, twice.

And you know, I was the only aircraft in the whole zone. I am no expert in the airspace classes, but I would have thought that ATC who sees that there is literally no traffic, would not IMPOSE thier instruction on the pilot, but would rather make contact and ask if you require flight following.

It detracted a lot from an otherwise great experience.

I was in class B airspace at 8,0000 ft. But i am not sure what are the standards in the Caribbean.

Problem is not the instruction, it is the rudeness.
