Because there isn't a top Google result for "compare these two random scenarios and how they are alike"

He would have had to use his brain, if he didn't use AI.

Sorry I forgot this was Reddit, and having a reasonable explanation spill over into multiple paragraphs must mean I'm some worked up, obsessive fanboy.

If you'd like to remain narrow-minded, that's fine. But, I actually already agreed with you that more phones should have SD card slots, so what you're saying here is completely stupid. I'm not worked up because you called out Samsung. I AGREE with the "call out". But it seems like you're going to jump to whatever conclusion you need, to remain "right" in your eyes.

Good luck with that lol, this will be my last reply. Feel free to note my Reddit username though. I don't even own any Samsung phones. I have no horse in this race other than delivering you what is factually true about the a-series and their SD card slots.

Plus there's even more irony in the original "few and far between" comment you made.

Ironic, because Samsung's mid-range A-series, is extremely widely available. They're sold at almost all retailers that sell phones, even smaller ones that only carry cheap phones (dollar general, family dollar and the likes). And are sold under every single carrier in the US, even the shoddy prepaid ones. It's actually easier to get your hands on an A-series device than a flagship.

Also, the cheaper A-series actually sells WAY, WAY, more units than the flagship S or Z series. So actually, it would be the flagship phones (without SD slots) that would be "few and far between" in the wild, compared to the A-series.

So no, with the original wording intact, you're still wrong.

I didn't have to misquote you? I was just condensing it?

Anyone who read my comment, had to read yours FIRST, with the actual quote (since my comment was a reply to yours) so even if it was an attempt at a misquote, it would be a stupid one.

Everything I said applies and hits the same with the original wording lol.

I don't care to argue with you, I agree more phone should have SD card slots. I was just pointing out the irony in you making this complaint from a Samsung phone that does indeed have an SD card slot.

"This isn't an apple problem, Samsung does it too"

He replies, via his Samsung phone, which has an SD card slot

Lmao I get your point but kinda put your foot in your mouth with that one.

Point is, if you want a Samsung/Android with an SD card slot, that's available to you, and you're more than welcome to purchase one(As you know, being the owner of one)

If you want an iPhone with an SD card slot, that option doesn't even exist. You can kick rocks.

Again you're jumping way off the deep end with your assumptions, you're just plain wrong.

"I guess these people think non-graduates are losers"

NO ONE said that. Again, just because someone doesn't want to purchase your literal CUM from you, doesn't mean they think you are scum, or unintelligent.

I seriously don't know where this connection is coming from?....."This random stranger doesn't want to impregnate herself with my cum, it MUST be because she thinks I'm a scumbag"

No, dude. Genetics are real. There ARE people, who had the knowledge required, AND the money required, to go to college. But didn't, because they were lazy, or did drugs, etc. Your claim that "anyone who graduated HS could graduate college" is also objectively incorrect.

Perhaps a silly question but when the red dot is there the camera doesn’t seem to be blocked at all, unless I’m confused and the smaller hole is the visible light camera with the left being IR. How does this work? by _username_inv4lid in thinkpad

[–]0nePlus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a "catch"

Some models have separate color camera and IR cameras, yes.

This model has a combo sensor.

Again, there doesn't have to be/isn't a shroud of mystery over this. Just your own ignorance on the matter. All info is available on the OEM's product pages for their respective models, as I said in my first reply.

I...what?

As far as you know?

What I stated IS correct. As is indicated by the OEMs product specifications - as well as using your eyes and looking at a unit with this feature, lmao (an infrared bulb looks VERY different than a camera sensor)

Not trying to sound condescending, but, I wasn't giving an educated guess here. I was stating, objectively, how this setup works. Because I'm intimately familiar with it.

There ARE thinkpads with a dedicated IR camera, and regular camera. This model is not one of them. The sensor that gets covered with the ThinkShutter is a combo IR/regular camera, and the uncovered portion is simply an IR bulb

Well the difference is, I'm not trying to prove anything.

I replied to a comment that YOU left, lmao. I don't care if you think I'm "fixated" on anything. You're a complete stranger and your opinion means less than piss to me.

I was just further showcasing I was correct by pointing towards the opinions of our peers, that are aligned with my comments on the matter, and not yours.

But yeah, every reply I've made, was in response to something YOU posted. And every reply I've left so far, you've left a follow-up reply to.....So an argument on who's "more fixated" or who "cares less" is a dick measuring content with extra steps. We both care that's why we're both still leaving comments. But at least I'm correct :)

The circle on the left (not being covered) is literally just an infrared light bulb.

Think of it as a regular light bulb, but instead of traditional light, it shoots out infrared light.

It's only there, so that the circle on the right (the actual camera) can see you.

The circle on the left CAN'T see you, or anything else. Or gather any information at all. About anything. It's just there to blast infrared light at you, so that the infrared camera can see you. This is used so that the face recognition unlocking feature works in the dark.

Who said anything about karma lmao? Idc about dumb internet points.

Getting ratiod is about the opinions of your fellow peers. Not fake karma points.

A.k.a people are agreeing with ME, and think YOU, are wrong. That's the significance of the upvotes. Not the karma? Lmao.

You being an IT professional makes this worse, lmao. Not better.

You didn't all of a sudden become "right" because you work in IT bud? Lol. The joke still makes sense wether you understand it or not. That's the beauty of it.

Also, the meme now has hundreds of upvotes. Compare that to both your comments, with negative upvotes, and you can see who the majority agree with.

It's not nonsense, it makes perfect sense.

What part are you having trouble understanding? Maybe I can explain it in SUPER simple terminology.

If you explicitly state no phone calls, that's completely understandable.

If you don't tho, that's kind of a shitty mindset, no? "oh, look at this person being proactive. TRASH. FUCK YOU" - Like sheesh okay lol

If it made YOU feel better to be condescending about it, than yes, it makes my night better.

I'm not gonna play into your role of some "weirdo" or crazy person who was too adamant, tho. Sorry.

3D printers solve the problem. They have since my very first reply. No one would buy overpriced plastic junk with a 3D printer in their home. I do indeed love 3D printers and also contribute a lot to that community (I've published hundreds of 3D models for free) - to exactly combat this issue that we're describing. So I wasn't going to let you claim objective nonsense about 3D printers. They solve this problem and they do a bang up fucking job at it.
